"this aint arc raiders bud" "this aint for friendlies and casuals" these two biggest things that are common in the community is only going to alienate new and lower end players by being so openly hostile and mocking them, and you wonder why Marathon is slowly losing players.

@GreenTextRepost Tarkov doesn't exactly make it great, but I do quite enjoy the little pause it brings; hiding in a corner to refuel in the middle of a raid, or desperately scrounging to something to keep yourself alive because you took a stomach shot and you're just trying to get to the exit.

@Timothy_Mark7 I'm sure the Bungie layoffs certainly prefer a bunch of journo 9/10's stapled to their eight month EoS over a divisive game that has enough people who love it to keep it alive for nearly a decade when it wasn't even finished (or optimized) for most of that.

@pyroniusburn 99% of the average player use cases is gonna be a complete non-issue. You sit at the bonfire, spend 30-100 souls out of the thousands in your bank to cap off your dura, and move deeper into the game until the next bonfire.

@Economic_Terror It's *mostly* a non-issue in DS1 the dragon weapon's special attacks eat a huge amount of it, but those are kinda uncommon and mostly shitty anyway 🤷‍♂️ Crystal weapons too, but nobody uses those tbh.

weapon durability is a good mechanic everyone is just allergic to making choices about resources

@Timothy_Mark7 It's estimated to be sitting at 40+K as we speak and has been way, way higher than that in the past. But nothing you say has any value because you already thought you could smokescreen me with the Steam numbers like the coward that you are.

@Economic_Terror even outside of the steam the player counts on it's own launcher had like 10-15K active players from last year mainly from europe, thats pretty tiny in the pvp gaming space.

@junestrings Far Cry 2 is another game that had the chance but made it a non-issue. Every gun is a 1 time purchase resulting in an infinite supply of that gun in peak condition. I suppose Duskers is probably the game that came closest to making durability feel like it MEANT something to me.
