A year ago today we said goodbye to our precious Finn. We speak about him every day, and the pain of losing him doesn’t get less. He was a wonderful joyful dog, he enriched our lives more than we can say ❤️🌈

One of the my favorite street dogs I feed got dragged under a car. "Mr Boxhead" is a lovely boy. A tough week but we found a great outcome. A little longer watch but I think you'll love him! Also asking for help for a name once you see him!

Pippin update : if nothing drastic occurs overnight Pippin comes home tomorrow 🥳❤️‍🩹🐾 the vet is happy with his progress and today is the best I have seen him, his usual playful self and wrestling with the Pipodile 🐊

💔It’s been a tough 5 weeks. Never thought I’d be designing one for my own dog. I have made many of these for other people. It’s just good to honor her in this special way.

Pippin update : spoke to his usual vet this morning. He hasn’t seen him since Thursday. He was very happy to see the improvements and said if he continues whilst they wean off the opioids he can come home tomorrow 🥳❤️‍🩹🐾

Part 1 of 2. Losing any dog is heartbreaking - but Megan and Alex have had a double tragedy. RPDD Willow, a beautiful black Labrador, who served at HMP Swinfen and HMP Dovegate, has been a member of the NFRSA family for just a few months and it was a privilege to support her when she fell seriously ill at the end of last year, and on this final journey too. Sadly, in March Willow deteriorated and it was time to let her go over rainbow bridge. With dignity. This is her story. Even more heartwrenching, just two days later, Koda, a youngster at just 2, and due to take over from Willow, was discovered to have an aggressive bone cancer - and the vets recommended he gently follow his big sister. We will share his story later - but for now, this is a tribute we wrote to Willow, whose loss has hit Megan and Alex hard. Our thoughts are with them both. nfrsa.org.uk

It’s about an hour from home but more than worth it if he can come home. I’m a little scared about re infection, as it will be an open wound. But I will have a really good discussion with the vets before he comes home.

Pippin update: the surgeon said his operation went well and the tissue under the dead skin looks healthy enough. He will likely have an open wound for around 4 months because that’s how long he likely needs to stay on the steroids for. It won’t heal until he is off them

Pippin update : the vet called and said he had a good night but was much more vocal. They said they think it’s behavioural and to do with the pain, but I think it might be because he’s feeling a bit better and is fed up of being there! They are doing the operation this morning

George is cautiously making some great progress. His heart is pure but he just has some trust issues but we are working through those
