The media often parrots the myth that Museveni has delivered 'peace and stability' for #Uganda, all while ignoring reality on the ground in which opposition is brutalized, civil society crushed and ordinary citizens trapped in a daily battle for survival. apnews.com/article/uganda…

The only way Ugandans can liberate themselves without sustaining trauma from crazy events and situations is coming up as one and doing something about it. As the general population. All successful countries have gone through this. It is an essential part of breaking the barrier of slavery in a nation’s lifetime. It will happen eventually but the time it takes us to reach that point is proportional to the development other countries will experience during that same time. Look at America, European countries and many other developed countries. They did not start like that forever, at some point we were at the same level. All of us. But over thousands of years, hundreds of years, and for some countries like Singapore, tens of years, these countries surpassed points in their evolution that dwarf us and make us look like another species of animal. Ugandans need to rise up, just like many other countries have done, and fight for their country. If we can not, the smart ones will continue to leave our country behind and continue to contribute to the greatness of others. No one can give us democracy. If someone ‘gives’ us “democracy”, they can take it just as easily as they ‘brought’ it. Unless we can learn and be apart of the system. Case in point; Museveni. We are broiling like chickens waiting to be eaten. We need to fly and be free like the eagle. Oh Uganda, May God uphold thee.

"I was singled out and targeted by security operatives because I turned down an invitation to go to the State House to meet President @KagutaMuseveni. Some of my colleagues went. They wanted me to declare that I support Mr Museveni. When I declined, they disqualified me from the race for city councillor," one of National Unity Platform (@NUP_Ug) supporters, after security operatives brutalised him as the party president, Mr Robert Kyagulanyi, aka @HEBobiwine, headed to the venue for his campaign rally in Mbale City. #MonitorUpdates #UgandaDecides2026 📹 Derick Wenani

One thing I will thank Ugandans for is not having very prominent tribal disagreements to the point that we fight each other for that sole purpose. Although some actors have made sure to try and push that agenda, the youth have remained united. We should never ever be pushed to fight each other on a tribal basis, that will be Ugandas downfall. Contrary to that, we should stick together and correlate, intermarry and cooperate in all different things. Our Unity will be the reason that we win!

Very enriching discussion at University of Oslo on how to apply RNA-based TB-MBLA test in clinical decision making for TB patients. Was thrilled to learn the team was looking for a solution to objectively measure patient TB burden as a basis of deciding whether the patient is safe to leave isolation unit when they landed on our Lancet Microbe paper doi.org/10.1016/S2666-… and decided to reach out to us @Infection_StAnd @TBtrials_StAnd @StAndMedicine @univofstandrews Happy to see the paper making impact and people using TB-MBLA to address important clinical research questions. @EmmanuelMusisi2 @BarikiMtafya3 @PanACEA_II @UNITE4TB @NIMRMbeya @Lung_Institute @UStAResearch

Once again, our comrade @margaretnattabi, is doing an incredible job unpacking the @NUP_Ug Manifesto into Luganda for everyone to easily understand. Today, we focus on Priority No. 8 — Empowering Regional and Local Governments through genuine devolution of power. This priority aims to return power and resources to the people — ensuring that development decisions are made closer to communities, not dictated from above. Real devolution means real service delivery, transparency, and accountability! #ANewUgandaNow #NUPManifesto
