Between the issues with the Strait and a potential inability to degrade their ballistic missile capacity permanently the panicans might win. Reminds me a lot of the Gaza War where Israel executed a lot of stuff well tactically but had no strategic vision because that vision (ethnically cleansing Palestinians from Gaza) would come at too high a price.

This strike attempt doubles that number overnight. The Khorramshahr-4 that likely carried out the attack can also deliver cluster warheads, the same munitions that have been devastating Israeli cities for three weeks. Look at the map. A 4,000 km range from Tehran draws a circle that reaches Paris, London, and most of Europe. If you attach social prestige to racial/sexual identity markers, you necessarily reduce the prestige allotted to genuine merit. The US used to have a far more sophisticated upper class, but generations of AA has taken its toll.

@revenant_MMXX can't speak as to the former two, but I actually do believe that digital drawing and painting are inferior mediums, and that they stunt the artistic development of people who rely on them. Sometimes, the critics are right.

@ExplodingBoner It's not a substitute for creativity any more than digital filmmaking and photography techniques, digital drawing/painting, etc would have been. People said all the same things about those technologies when they were new.
The big difference with AI is the sheer volume of it.

You're seeing people struggling to get their heads around how & why AI-generated media counts as art because they misunderstand what "art" even is. "Art" is the marriage of craftmanship and imagination. It's not the presence or absence of AI that results in what people call "slop," it's a lack of creative talent. If you have creative talent, AI is just another tool to leverage. A video like this is the product of a new kind of craftsmanship, done with a new set of tools, and like any tool, it has to be used in a particular way to produce the results you want:

“White boy” is a slur meant to emasculate White men. How many other men on earth are openly called boys? Black boys, mexican boys, arab boys… not a thing. Only White men are called boys because it is based on spite and resentment.
