@CountSeeLore Needs over 10 points to avoid a full price drop. I think he'll be fine especially as it's his home grand prix but Bortoleto is a safer bet at that price point.

@RudyReaper I think I'm going to keep Bearman and try and run a Mercedes/Mclaren line up. Only works with a big budget but means I have to go with some utterly awful B tier drivers. Worth it if they can survive the weekend without a DNF!

@FTSY_Slipstream Personally, I don't think it is a great budget week. In fact neither Canada. Nor Monaco. Monaco will be super low overtake so I'm not sure how many points the midfielders will gain. This is forcing me to think about moving to a 2A constructor. Or a crazy one - 3A driver

@FTSY_Slipstream @ReinBerglund Ahhhh yes. That would be suitable, eh? Would be much preferred to having the driver tied to constructor. 50% reduction would still be fine imo. Each driver, of course, represents 1/2 the constructor, etc. It almost makes TOO MUCH sense 😂

@F1antasyFun @ReinBerglund Oh I just mean for the driver itself. If Norris retires then he loses half his points but the rest of the team are the same. Means having somebody like Hulkenburg retire isn't quite the disaster!

@FTSY_Slipstream @ReinBerglund Could be interesting…but %’s really fck w/the math. So…an amazing week for your T1 overall could majorly be destroyed (even worse than the -20 would have) if the set % is gnarly enough. Would have to be an added function f(x) in addition to a %, imo. Could be 🌶️

@FTSY_Slipstream @ReinBerglund It certainly does need to be reduced! We’ve argued this pt. for years. I think most would agree ~50% reduction would be appropriate, as it deserves to be penalized, but not to the extent of affecting the entire game and outcome(s) as it does. #F1Fantasy

@F1FantasyGavin @FTSY_Slipstream @ReinBerglund I’ve often thought the fix is to actually reward finishing the race. Imagine starting and finishing 15th and getting zero points but a 20th place who finishes 18th because of 2xDNF’s gets more points.
+5pts for each driver who sees the 🏁 = 1 DNF and 4 finishes is manageable.

Reduce the DNF penalty
Get rid of the Driver of the Day
Give more points for qualifying. Point for getting through Q1 etc
I like getting overtake points as it means there's interest basically throughout most races!

@F_FantasyHub @ReinBerglund @FTSY_Slipstream 100% agree Rob. 2022 scoring felt cleaner and more strategic. The -10 DNF was harsh but fair, position caps stopped huge swings, and streak bonuses rewarded consistency.
The current scoring system gives Assistant Manager chip in FPL vibes 😂

@LeapsFrog24 I'm thinking along the same lines as you now. I'm basically going to go to MCL/MER and then switch my drivers often. Fastest way to go to 4A while still getting decent points.
As you're an obvious #F1Fantasy enthusiast what sort of changes would you make to the game?

@FTSY_Slipstream Of course though I had to sacrifice picking the DRS driver I actually wanted in Miami due to budget purposes. I wasn’t necessarily afraid of the Norris price action. It was more about the budget action from the rest of the team to accommodate someone 2 million more expensive.

@ReinBerglund I've seen a few say the DNF penalty needs to be reduced and I agree. Take Gasly at Miami as an example. He's flipped by another car and gets a -20!
What would you suggest the penalty should be? -5? -10?

@FTSY_Slipstream It's funny because I think they introduced the 3 race average for budget gains to combat this exact feeling (tb to when one DNF cost you 1.5M on your premium assets)
The problem is the DNF penalty is still freaking -20 points so you still lose budget on your DNFs every time...

➡️Perez has double the number of overtakes that Bottas does (30 v 15)
➡️Alonso has the 9th most overtakes this season despite only finishing 2 races
➡️Ocon is the only driver to have full prices rises each race (+2.4M)
