@PJChapman74 and thats before even getting into telling the Americans there's some elaborate tax evasion scheme on their world reserve currency system.
English

@FansTzero ...be deducted at source, but the interest is still taxable if you're liable for tax in the UK. If you're hoping these assets are invisible to HMRC, and that's how you're hoping to reduce your tax bill, that isn't tax avoidance.
English

You do wonder what goes through people's minds. I know I have some very financially savvy people as followers who will 100% know that this guy has no idea what he's talking about. "The London Eurodollar Market is real. HMRC do not acknowledge its existence because it...

@markyh65 Did you actually watch the video? The London Eurodollar Market is real. HMRC do not acknowledge its existence because it operates in US$ & while it’s run from The city of London the assets aren’t physically held there. Without legislation in place the EU can’t accuse HMRC/2
English

@GoldTelegraph_ "you just don't get it!!!".... It's a mixture of idiots with too much money (1%) and the rest is straight up money laundering or tax evasion just like real art.

People are spending $200,000 for digital rocks.
They could buy 2 kilos of REAL #gold for that much.
When asked why?
“We live in the meme economy, and right now jpeg rocks are outperforming gold”
The people that say we are not in a bubble... this one is for you.

@PJChapman74 @jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton That's a very welcome bill, and I hope enforcement is easy / clear. Does it include IPs that originated in the US etc ?
English

@FansTzero @jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton Something is done about royalties on patents, branding etc. If these royalties are sent from the UK to jurisdictions that won't tax them, they will be taxed by the UK. Other jurisdictions can impose similar rules.
gov.uk/government/pub…
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton @PJChapman74 ... which will of course make the other tax contributions appear much higher. The EU tried to cut through this to the tune of 13bn and failed.
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton @PJChapman74 I'm using 50% as an example to say yes it's pointless unless something is done about royalties etc on patents. This 'cost' funnels profit back to jurisdictions with corporation tax even less than Ireland's 12.5%. This causes debate/subjectivity on the effective rate of tax...
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton @PJChapman74 You're right I'm going off point, well done on the trade.
My point is that if the likes of Ireland had a 50% rate, the same result would occur with the high cost base and accounting tricks from these corporation bases in overseas territories. 50% of f**k all is still f**k all.
English

@FansTzero @georgeeaton Strawman. I love Bitcoin made me a fortune. @PJChapman74 apparently Britain set up the great Irish tax dodge?
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton You like Bitcoin. I should have known you wouldn't understand key details like this.
English

@FansTzero @georgeeaton ‘The British are responsible for Ireland’s tax haven’ 🤣🤣🤣🙄
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton Their 12.5% is distorted due to British overseas territories subsidaries of these large corporations charging IP royalties and high interest loans to erode profit. If you don't care to look at the root cause, then why bother piping up.
English

@FansTzero @georgeeaton Ireland is a tax haven, should we tariff them if they don't match the G7?

Sticker, England 🇬🇧 English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton Why would you say Ireland, it's not an overseas territory.
IPs and high interest loans that appear in company accounts from these locations should be tariffed if they don't pay the appropriate tax. These 'independent' places are ripping the likes of Ireland off.
English

@FansTzero @georgeeaton Jersey, isle of man etc are their own countries, not colonies. What next we bring Ireland, Luxemburg, Guam, Fiji ‘into line’?
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton Jersey, Isle of Man etc should be brought into line. If you can't see this then you're part of the problem.
English

@FansTzero @georgeeaton Britain has no right to control other countries. Britain doesn't use the companies do & it happens in every major economy in the world.
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton By Britain, I mean prominent politicians and snake oil businessmen
English

@jamiedchandler1 @georgeeaton I understand it doesn't, but it should. Britain uses their independence to avoid this but it's nothing short of a disgrace that it uses a zero tax paradise. It should be hit head on as part of these discussions. Being a tax haven does nothing for society / innovation / business
