I disagree with Jiang on lots of things but to get hung up on whether he's actually a professor or not is stupid. Being a professor in anything offers very little legitimacy in this day and age. The only thing that matters is whether your ideas hold up under analysis and critique.

2.48 MILLION BARRELS OF RUSSIAN CRUDE PROCURED
Petron Corp., the country’s only oil refiner, said it has procured a total of 2.48 million barrels of crude oil sourced from Russia as the country faces an energy emergency.
These orders, along with all other crude secured, will beef up the company’s fuel inventory until June, Petron said.
It also noted that the procurement of Russian crude is not part of its business-as-usual sourcing strategy, as the orders were undertaken “strictly out of extreme necessity.” | via @brixlelis

Terry Ridon is having a field day mocking Sara Duterte as “kabado malala” for seeking relief from the Supreme Court.
Funny how quickly these critics label legal defense as fear when it’s their own side that panics the moment a case faces real judicial review instead of their controlled committee echo chamber.
Going to the Supreme Court with a certiorari petition and TRO is not trembling in fear — it’s a calculated move to expose a process that relies on recycled accusations, anonymous whispers, and self-confessed storytellers rather than hard evidence.
The ones truly “kabado malala” are those pushing this impeachment circus, knowing full well their house of cards will crumble under proper scrutiny.
Ridon and company can keep throwing playground insults, but filing proper legal remedies against obvious political persecution is not weakness. It’s exactly what any serious leader does when facing a vendetta disguised as oversight.
Let the Supreme Court do its job. The louder the taunts from the peanut gallery, the clearer it becomes how desperate their position really is.
