@bradleysweigel If you don't take those pay downs to start the year, you can't retroactively get that cap space back. You can always take it off them (gotta trade, or force the league's hand).
My sheet with the conversions has more salary room for you (ideal for roster building) and less GAM

@Fly89_ I think what you are saying is we took conversions from Luca and paid down DP's which give us a bunch of CAP left vs what I'm saying is that we haven't chosen to take the "conversions" which gives us less cap space but nearly mirrors what MLS says we have in GAM?

Big credit to Noonan and the players to hang in there. There are issues they have to solve and they would admit that. Noonan deserves our respect and deserves the summer window to fix it.

@bradleysweigel So just looking at your numbers, they are not far off. But if you are going off best practices in the league, which I'd assume Chris is adhering pretty close to, there is a lot of GAM expenditure that you do not have accounted for on this sheet.

@bradleysweigel It's an unfortunate result of Chris' "We should always be in win-now" strategy. With carryover GAM a thing now, it puts us at a significant disadvantage in the long run. A team can reset for a year, and find cheaper contributors. While we pay 8 guys out the nose and burn GAM.

@bradleysweigel Yep. To get back level where we were last year on the 2 DP model, we immediately had to use 2 million in GAM. Then to pay down Teenage's salary, the combined salary and fees of Jabbari, Ramirez, and Bucha, and now we have to buy down 3 DP cap hits instead of 2.
It's ugly man.

@bradleysweigel You are aware, that GAM total to start the year, includes our GAM conversion. Right? Gotta borrow from next year again if we want to add more to the pile.

@Fly89_ He deserves to get an adjustment in personnel. CA has given him 3 players that can cause a threat. That’s not enough. I believe that once we exercise the GAM conversions available to us we should have some room. Agree on your last points.

I've been talking about it in group chats for a while. Chris has gone from team building, to roster building. The locker room is no longer toxic, don't bring in any toxic players, and you can add high level profiles easily.
He got rid of both Yedlin and Santos after this tweet.

@Tiagobrandao_8 @walterzie Loan had a buy option. Was brought in while they worked to find a long term solution. Instead of finding that, GM went around the owner who brought Brenner in, and signed one of our centerbacks to a DP contract.
No deal was possible at that point.

É óbvio que QUALQUER jogador - não só atacantes! - em boa fase não teria perdido os gols que ele perdeu ontem.
Mas o Brenner NÃO ESTÁ em boa fase. Se tivesse, o Cincinatti teria comprado ele ou a Udinese teria dificultado a saída.
O Vasco não trouxe ele pela boa fase (como fez com o Spinelli), trouxe porque é um jogador ainda jovem, de teto alto, e que já performou em alto nível.
Tem que ter paciência. Os gols vão sair.
