@Jermss91 Lottery is not a good analogy because outcomes are independent. Your decision doesn't influence the outcome. Ichiro's decision put a runner on 3rd, which resulted in that runner to run in the next pitch... If he caught it? Runner on 1st with 2 outs and eliminates the sac fly.
