@RepJeffries I don’t think you are saying what you think you are. The confederacy was democrats. I do agree, they are haunting the nation.

The ghosts of the confederacy have afflicted the Supreme Court. And are haunting the nation. Shameful.

The Fairfax DA reduced charges against a child r*pist to keep him from getting deported. It is incredibly evil. It makes our streets more dangerous. And we ought to be defunding sanctuary jurisdictions entirely.

@PolitiBunny Also by now, we know this “program for free stuff” is really just a way to shovel taxpayer $$ to connected NGOs who in turn funnel donations back to the Dem party. It’s not about supposedly hungry kids at all.

I feel like by now, these arguments would seem pointless and repetitive into the people making them. We’ve been having this argument for decades … and they don’t get any smarter or less emotional.

@ScottPresler Scott I understand what your aim is - but will Paxton have a shot at actually winning the seat? Is getting rid of Cornyn so needed that you/we are willling to lose the entire seat for 7 years???

If Louisiana defeats Senator Bill Cassidy tomorrow, that energy will transfer over to Texas & help elect Ken Paxton on Tuesday, May 26th. There will be massive pressure on Senate Majority Leader Thune to pass the SAVE America Act.

@GausbyDianne @GovernorVA The whole thing stinks but the payroll tax is not 5%. It will be less than 1%, (projected, for now) which is still too much - but I wanted to let you know the 5% you quoted is incorrect.

@GovernorVA And adds a 5% payroll tax to workers. So much for affordability, Abby.

In Virginia, a typical worker who takes four weeks of unpaid leave loses more than $3,600 in income.   Access to paid family and medical leave lowers costs for working families. That's why I'm proud to sign legislation that provides up to 12 weeks of paid family & medical leave for Virginians.

Governor Abigail Spanberger
The Supreme Court of the United States has now joined the Supreme Court of Virginia in choosing to nullify an election and the votes of more than three million Virginians. These Virginians made their voices heard — casting their ballots in good faith to push back against a President who said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress before voters go to the polls. As Governor, I will make sure voters know when and how to cast their votes this year. Because our votes are how we choose the representation we deserve.

I’m not sure about the math - the person who testified about that said there were 100k illegal immigrants in the county. I’m still digesting the testimony, but let’s round and go conservative, that could still be ~10% of the county that is deportable, which is an astonishing stat. IDk about the magical mail-in dumps - I would sooner suspect just fake mail-in ballots, but I hear you it is suspicious.

Governor Abigail Spanberger
Energy costs are skyrocketing because of the President’s reckless war. But even before he disrupted global markets, monthly bills have been hard to manage. Yesterday, I signed legislation to diversity our energy usage and better protect Virginians from volatile prices. Real, long-term investments that will mean real money in people’s pockets.

And now we are bearing the consequences of Spanberger, who ran on affordability and then immediately signed over 50+ new taxes into law. Signed legislation putting us in some energy compact which is said to increase energy bills significantly. Just signed a new family leave act, which will be funded by a tax on workers and employers. Said gerrymandering was ‘bad’ and she wouldnt support it for VA, then immediately supported and would have signed it to law if the courts wouldn’t have nullified the redistricting election. And on, and on…

They barely supported (if at all) Winsome Earle-Sears for the Governor’s race. Came in late to the party regarding the ‘election referendum.’ Just not spending $$ here, while spending $100m for John Cornyn’s primary (Texas) and he didn’t even win. It was good to see ads against the election referendum towards the end of the election season, but they were conspicuously absent for the first 2/3.

@GovernorVA The Compact you signed Virginian voters up for is simply wrong, un -American, and definitely un-Virginian. You are astonishingly bad at governing this great Commonwealth.
Tim Anderson@AssocAnderson

The biggest fairness problem with the National Popular Vote Compact is that it forces Virginians to have their presidential votes effectively tied to election systems in other states that Virginia cannot control. States like California and New York use dramatically different voting laws, voter roll maintenance standards, mail ballot procedures, and verification systems. If another state has weaker safeguards or public distrust in its election integrity, Virginians still bear the consequences because every disputed or improperly counted vote elsewhere can effectively cancel out a lawful vote cast here in Virginia. Under the Electoral College system, each state governs its own election and awards its own electors. The National Popular Vote Compact changes that balance by making Virginia dependent on election administration decisions made by officials thousands of miles away in states with very different political priorities and voting policies. Whether someone is Republican, Democrat, or independent, voters should be concerned anytime their state’s electoral outcome can be overridden by voting systems they neither control nor trust. It’s not a good day that Abigail signed this into law. While, it doesn’t change anything immediately. It puts us one step closer to an illegitimate process in selecting the president.

BUSTED: Karen Bass caught paying street ops in black vehicles passing out needles and tourniquets to keep addicts high so her NGO friends can continue to profit off their misery and steal their Medicare $$. These people are sick. I’m ending this madness and imposing mandatory treatment. Enough death and misery.

From “News Items” from @EllisItems (substack.news-items.com): “2. Iranian leaders are trying to dictate the terms for ending the war, which illustrates that the Iranian regime perceives that it has the upper hand in the conflict at this time. Iran’s proposed terms would require the United States to give up its leverage over Iran before any negotiations could take place, which would likely make it more challenging to extract nuclear concessions from Iran. Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Baghiyatollah Sociocultural Headquarters Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari stated on May 11 that Iran will not enter negotiations with the United States until the United States accepts Iran’s terms. Jafari stated that Iran’s terms include an end to the war on “all fronts,” the lifting of sanctions, the release of frozen Iranian assets, compensation for war-related damages, and recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
