@TopherStoll Someone made a point that the earlier Trek drew from other genres and stories, Holmes, westerns, noir etc… while modern Trek draws from Trek and that idea has stuck in my head.

This discourse is going to kill me. The entire world, including Andy Weir, cannot wrap their heads around the truth that- A. Star Trek has always been very progressive and political and that’s a key part of its identity. B. Modern trek is mostly very stupid and bad and it’s not because its politics have shifted.

@MagneticNorse If I’d done this to my dad’s calipers he would have shot me in the foot and had me try to find what caliber I was shot with by testing the bullet… which I couldn’t do because I’d ruined the calibration of the calipers by using it as a hammer. Harsh but fair.

The Last Jedi. It somehow manages to give each of the trio meaningful character arcs while separated, only to have them all come together for a climatic finale that perfectly caps off the film as well as Luke's and Kylo's arcs. Its cinematography is next level, and it is funny!

@StarWarsDaily_ Would of saved the trilogy honestly, there are scenes in the first film where you could see him mouthing words before someone would make the wrong decision, it was hidden so well, and the hate was so fast, the fans screwed themselves.

@bestofstarwar This scene was the best part of the film. In 99 I hated the CGI overload, a whining Anakin, super speed Jedi and Jar-jar (who in retrospect we hated on too soon and hard causing us to lose a potentially legendary Sith reveal) This scene though had grown men swinging sticks.

@catsatwarpspeed Enterprise ended in ‘05, Discovery came out in ‘17. Sure the Kelvin timeline gave us some nibbles, but we’ve been in a draught before. The rains will come again.

@hollywoodscifi I thought we were complaining because ST:3/6 and Worf’s evolution over 2 series and several movies demonstrated Klingons don’t always need to growl when they talk.

Of course this is a controversial topic, but here's a very simple question that no one seems to be asking: Are people complaining because they are homophobic OR are they complaining because they think it's a horrible idea?

Starfleet Academy did not land in the top 10 shows of the Paramount app on the weekend of its finale, yet the production team is saying it "found its audience." Where do you think this audience is?

@Ford_Nick It’s not “leftover” it’s prepped. My prepped bacon runs interference on snacks in the kitchen. Swingin’ by for a cracker *blocked* eat bacon, want a banana *denied* eat bacon. Coffee? Ok but just to wash down more bacon.

This is Star Trek, now. I legitimately didn't know I could hate modern Star Trek any more, but Kurtzman has outdone himself. If you didn't know better and were told that STARFLEET ACADEMY was a parody, you wouldn't know it wasn't.
