Meanwhile, elsewhere in the GCC and West Asia-Southeast Europe, the Pakistani civilian delegation led by the prime minister is meeting with Saudi, Qatari, and Turkish leadership to pave the way for a peaceful settlement of the dispute. Pakistan also arranged a high-level call between Iran and the UAE, between the UAE Vice President and the Iranian parliament speaker, on Wednesday to help de-escalate hostilities between the two countries. Pakistan continues to work overtime and go the extra mile to help resolve the conflict created in Iran and to ensure the U.S. restrains Israel in Lebanon. Pakistan, as a country, deserves the Nobel Peace Prize!

The two-week Iran–U.S. ceasefire expires on April 22. If both sides want to extend it, they will likely hold a second meeting within a week. U.S. will use this time to pressure Iran through a naval blockade in an effort to push it away from its maximalist position. Iran does not have an effective response to a U.S. naval blockade, which could put it in a better position before the next meeting on or before April 20. U.S. will enter the meeting from a position of strength!
