@roachy01 Not sure myself but I think Garry Lyon and Tim Watson mentioned something fleetingly on their radio show

Fox Sports in Australia who are televising the Masters this year show last years final rounds. I just can’t watch the 96 year. I was there and it still rips my heart out watching the Shark lose to Faldo. Was an idol growing up. He was never the same after that.

Yep. Can still remember every painful moment from that day. A devastating day for everyone who followed him. Respectfully disagree that he was never the same though. His 93 Open win (via one of the greatest ever final rounds in a Major) was so dominant and he stared down nemesis Faldo in the process. He was peak Shark that day.

@TimmyfromOz888 Layperson’s observation but he seems floridly unwell in a mental health sense.

@hawthornzone @JustAcidity Yes. That would be significantly premature. I do think Jai will have a fine career at Sydney but jeez he has a hell of a challenge to be spoken about in the same sentence as Joey.

@HFCAlways @JustAcidity Yep. But what I will say, comparisons of Serong/Josh Kennedy are stretching it. Very early to tell right now.

Still seeing people upset over the fact that we lost Jai Serong. I’m stoked that he’s doing well and always knew he’d thrive at the Swans but we need to let go of what’s gone now. Sam speaks here on the development of our talent after the win over Geelong. ⬇️

@hawthornzone Yeah same. Seemed like a quality kid who kept high standards and high effort for his entire time at HFC. Makes me sick to think of what we got back for him in the trade. 🤮

@HFCAlways Yeah it was unfortunate for Jai because I thought he had lots of talent. Glad to see him executing it now!

@JustAcidity @hawthornzone On 2025 Hawthorn match committee thinking, your opinion is almost certainly correct. What I’m saying is they didn’t see his potential as a midfielder and thus didn’t see him as a candidate for the role Harry played last year. I think history will show this to be an error.

I agree on Morrison. He did have his best year and you can never question his effort. That said, I think Serong is a better footballer and should have been playing in Morrison’s role. Feel very sorry for Jai. Whenever he was brought in he was asked to play key back and was thrown to the wolves

@HFCAlways I’d argue Morrison’s 2025 was his best season as a Hawk. Played 20 games compared to the 12 he did in 24 and had a spot in the side cemented. Hence why Serong didn’t get a game. Injury ended his season early where he avg 17.4 disp. Think Jiath was the one Hawks persisted with.

@hawthornzone Not sure who they wanted to leave out of the team for Jai to play. Still trying to figure out who goes out when Daisy is fit.

@goldandbrown4 I’d bring back Mackenzie and Amon (if fully fit). Gunston gets a rest off a 5 day break and Lewis gets the chance to lead the forward line. Perez is the unlucky one after a neat debut. Very much want to see Dalton stay in the side and build up his experience.

5 day break, you think Gunston will be rested this week VS the dogs, after pulling up sore on Easter Monday. Which option do you think? Dear? Debut Schubert? Chol, Lewis and either Meek or Reeves spending time up forward?? Bc if Mackenzie plays then Moore/Macdonald play forward
