the claim that Pashtuns were not subjugated throughout history is false. At times the Mughals, the Sikhs, and the British subjugated them for long periods of time. And the Mughals subjugated them for 200 years. Though in many areas it was nominal as per authentic sources

@TCaucuss @panjabist Well, pashtuns of Pakhtunkhwa have mostly been independent, even independent of the Pashtun dynasties that were established in India and Punjab. For example, sher shah Suri stopped right at Indus and never ventured into Pakhtunkhwa.
