🌴 HighByte CTO Aron Semle lit up the main stage as the opening keynote at S4x26 in Miami this year. Aron explained in practical terms the challenges of combining existing legacy OT infrastructure with modern AI. Manufacturers often struggle to scale because industrial data is siloed in bespoke connections and lacks context. While #DataOps and a UNS-based approach can help solve these challenges and fuel AI, Aron argues that the OT security community must understand this new architecture and be prepared to secure it. If you missed the sold out conference, you can still catch Aron's keynote on YouTube here. 🎥👇 bit.ly/40wR3Db

💡 In his latest post, HighByte Chief Product Officer John Harrington explains why #AgenticAI is driving a 100x increase in the number of data consumers on the factory floor. 🤖 In Industry 3.0, a handful of systems consumed shop floor data. Industry 4.0 pushed that to dozens. Now, manufacturers need to prepare for potentially thousands of autonomous AI agents—each one requiring specific, contextualized data delivered in real time. 🏗️ This isn't a theoretical exercise. It's a scaling problem that your existing data architecture was not built to handle. If you're planning an industrial AI investment in 2026, this guidance is worth the read. Moving data ☝️ is not the same as understanding it. If we want to scale Agentic AI, we must bridge the semantic gap. ✏️ In his latest post, Colin Masson, Director of Research at @arc_advisory, provides a smart analysis of #i3X—the standards initiative announced by @CESMII_SM with a mandate to reduce the cost and time required to implement #SmartManufacturing by 50%. i3X allows developers to build products or AI agents against a standardized API rather than proprietary stacks. Learn more about this "API for the factory" and the working group supporting the specification based on interviews with John Dyck, Jonathan Wise, and Aron Semle. 💡 80% of manufacturing executives plan to allocate at least 20% of their improvement budgets to smart manufacturing by 2026. Why? Because real-time, accessible data reduces manufacturing downtime, improves performance, and equips teams to make smarter operational decisions. But that kind of impact doesn’t happen without a strong data foundation—and for many manufacturers, that foundation is a Unified Namespace (UNS). In this @MachineDesign article, HighByte co-founder @ToreyMarie explains how a #UNS enables manufacturers to: ✅ Eliminate silos between IT and OT ✅ Standardize and contextualize industrial data ✅ Structure datasets around real operational needs ✅ Support scalable, AI-ready initiatives Read the full article👇 bit.ly/4cWZcrJ

As a sponsor of the recent ProveIt Conference, we have learned how some attendees felt they were treated at the event and how their feedback was addressed in the weeks that followed. At HighByte, culture and values always take precedence over business opportunities. So, we stepped back to listen, discuss, and challenge each other internally on how attendees’ experiences at the event and the conversations that followed compare to our company culture, values, and how we expect professionals to act towards and treat one another. We promote an inclusive environment where anyone regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual preference, and age are treated fairly and with dignity. We expect our employees, partners, and vendors to do the same. As a company, we encourage industry leaders and the community to challenge how each of us can be a better person. It’s not about winning an argument or having the last say—it’s about fostering an environment where we all can share our experiences without being intimidated or silenced. Our industry is strongest when diverse voices are welcomed, recognized, and celebrated.

What began as hypothesis among three founders in 2018 has grown into a global operation serving nearly 100 industrial companies across 24 countries and 20 industrial segments. 🚀 But we didn't do it alone. @mtimaine (MTI) has supported the company's journey since 2019 through grants, equity investments, mentorship, and active participation on the HighByte Board of Directors. Beyond funding, the relationship has truly became a long-term partnership. 🙏 If you're curious about the origin story of HighByte and what it means to build—and scale—an industrial software company in #Maine, spend a little time with this Innovator Spotlight published by our partners at MTI.👇 bit.ly/4b85rrm

Manufacturers don’t struggle to collect data; they struggle to use it. In this @automation_com article, John Rinaldi, CEO at @rtautomation, explains why lack of #context is to blame. He breaks down the 8 types of data context and why they are critical to making data usable. Because as he puts it: 💬 “Most edge gateways on the market today treat plant-floor data the same way a teenager treats laundry: grab whatever’s lying around and throw it into a pile. Sure, the data moves. Sure, it lands somewhere. But none of it arrives ready for use.” Platforms like #HighByte Intelligence Hub help manufacturers contextualize, model, and govern industrial data—so it’s structured, trusted, and ready for analytics and #AI. If you’re building an industrial #DataStrategy, this is worth the read.👇 bit.ly/4aII0nb

@kellypeilinchan @CRudinschi The context for a data point is typically not static but rather sourced by data from other systems. When these attributes (via many sources) can be curated into a data model and published as a complete payload, target applications have the context they need. HighByte excels here.

The most time-consuming part of DataOps is identifying and mapping thousands of tags from an OPC server. @HighByteInc now uses AI to build the DataOps infrastructure itself. AI agents can now scan an address space, propose instance definitions, and even create pipelines using natural language. This allows the OT team to spend less time on manual configuration and more time on high-value analytics. #sponsored #highbyte_iiot
