So let me get this straight... Other Clerics have some sort of card draw/ interruption. But Diao Chan, Idyll Corsage only have 1 turn interruption and have to materialize one more Regalia Item which have the risk of being destroyed for the extra card draw? Hmm....

@MaindeckGames Yeah, looking at Water Tera Diao Chan as it's a super pricey deck, and zero results just makes it pointless of using it.

GA is a pricy game, but budget decks still exist. I think one of the main reasons you see less is that the game's core base has simply been super devoted and have all the cards - more effective budget brews like this will continue to show up as it grows!

My biggest peeve with Vanguard's card design this year is all encompassed in this 1 card: every deck getting a restanding rear and a Combine Rusher equivalent. In the past, being able to restand rearguards or the Vanguard was a unit's, deck's, or even entire clan's identity. Even when decks would be able to produce multiple attacks, it'd be distributed in ways that still had flavour (such as Time Leap). The same very much goes for reviving cards from drop - it had to make sense thematically for the most part. Maybe this is because Stand triggers no longer exist that they feel the need to compensate now all of a sudden, but even in 2024 I feel like they were a lot better about designing cards and decks where either the restand condition felt flavourful or appropriately restricted (the Prison restanding G2 is a good example of this), while this year has been a lot of "CB1 stand if your Vanguard is X". I'd probably also have less of an issue if these rearguard restands were limited to achieving deck-specific conditions, like for Brawlers to have "if your Vanguard hit 2 or more units this turn", or Bavsargra's Yyugmashad to have "if you equipped 2 or more Arms this turn" rather than just "if your Vanguard is Standing/end of its attack/if you didn't stand anything yet this turn". I really hope we can go back to more flavourful card design next year, rather than be surprised when something isn't a copy paste of effects mashed together.

@suitstcg Most TCGs from Japan don't have interaction on "On placed searcher" triggers (except YGO as far as I know). Try to look at Western TCGs like Magic and Grand Archive and you'll know why we say "sure"

why do TCG players say “sure” or “thats fine” when I activate an on play ability…I’m just using a searcher dude…
