Hi George. I’m a Palestinian Christian from Gaza. The majority of Christians who left did so due to Israel’s illegal blockade. My family’s orchards were bulldozed by the IOF. My grandfather was expelled from Bir Saba’ in 48. My great aunt was sniped by a terrorist soldier in Nov.
George Deek@GeorgeDeek

Hi Mirna from Portland, like you I’m Christian. Like you I come from a Palestinian family. But if you really cared about the plight of Christians in the Middle East you’d be supporting Israel and condemning Hamas. In Israel, the Christian population grew from less than 40,000 in 1950 to over 180,000 today – that’s a 450% increase. It is the only place in the Middle East where the number of Christians is rising. In the Palestinian territories by contrast, the Christian population has declined from 15 percent in 1950 to less than 2 percent today. Christians are running away from Gaza – I know because I personally helped many of them. Less than 2,000 Christians remain there. Remember Rami Ayyad? He was a member of the Baptist Church, managed Gaza's only Christian bookstore and was involved in many charitable activities. He was found shot in the head, his body thrown on a Gaza street in 2007. Remember how in May 2008 a bomb detonated outside a Christian school in Gaza City? This was not the first bombing of the Zahwa Rosary School, maybe you studied there yourself. Remember how in January 2008, a convoy of over 400 Christians left Gaza for Bethlehem, and did not plan on returning? Remember how Hamas bans any celebration of Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Gaza? Maybe you don’t, but here is one thing you must remember: A Middle East that has no room for Jews, is a middle East that has no room for Christians, or any other minority. 🇮🇱 @abierkhatib

Important we now have a leader of a mainstream political party saying that there isnt just one monolithic opinion in the Jewish community. Anti-zionist Jews have been around long before Israel was even a state despite what @CIJAinfo and @bnaibrithcanada would have you believe.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca

Avi Lewis on his Jewish anti-Zionist roots: "I come from a long tradition, a multi-generation tradition of Jewish anti-Zionism ... as long as there's been formal pro-Israel Zionist organizations, there's been a tradition that has disagreed with that within the Jewish community."

A valid point is raised by @nntaleb and @asadabukhalil : Israel has been engaging in summary executions of Palestinians and others for decades, so why go through the trouble and potential scrutiny of legislating a death penalty that will be applied on a strictly ethnic basis? Expressed differently, why now? I think the answer has little to do with Israeli-Palestinian relations and is to be found primarily in domestic Israeli politics. Israeli society, encouraged by decades of impunity, has decisively shifted to the extreme right. In this context the death penalty legislation is primarily an electoral instrument. Those behind this legislation expect to reap a significant political reward for their racist legislation in this year's elections, precisely because the legislation is racist and is about killing Arabs. All indications are that their initiative will pay off. As for the potential scrutiny, after extensive discussion and debate about the executions there may at some point be an expression of concern from Brussels, which will immediately be denounced as an anti-Semitic blood libel, and for which the EU will promptly apologize.
asad abukhalil أسعد أبو خليل@asadabukhalil

Exactly: the notion that the occupation state never had the death penalty (with one exception) is a mere propaganda ploy. It finds it easier to kill Arabs without trial. Why bother with the death penalty law?

I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran. This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war. Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons. I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late. Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.

While travelling in Iran near the Strait of Hormuz, I visited family members of the 168 students and teachers massacred by U.S. airstrikes in the town of Minab. They angrily rejected any suggestion that they or the Minab school were connected to Iran's military. They also confirmed that they've been completely ignored by Western media, the U.N. and U.S. military investigators. My interviews of the family members took place at the cemetery where many of those killed have been laid to rest. I also visited the home of a family that lost five of its members in the atrocity. #Iran #IranWar youtube.com/watch?v=6o2R-_…

One problem with Jesse’s narrative here is that Avi Lewis is himself Jewish. The fact that Jesse has to obscure that by conflating “Jews” with Zionists underscores that Avi’s assessment about Zionists being cartoonish supremacist cry-bullies is correct.
Jesse Brown@JesseBrown

Reminder that @avilewis, leader of the Federal NDP, believes antisemitism is just a "narrative" forced by the "Israel lobby" and that Jews are "cartoonish narcissists," "perpetrators," "supremacists" and "crybullies" who "urgently" must be made uncomfortable.

Sure, I might be untalented. Up to others to decide. But I can deduce that voting “no” on legislation that would cut arms to Israel amounts to supporting U.S. funded arms to Israel…as they carry out war crimes and atrocities daily. Those crimes are committed with zero fear of blowback thanks to the defensive capabilities Americans are forced to bankroll. In addition to voting no on that legislation last year, in 2021 you originally (and correctly) voted “no” on a bill to funnel an extra $1 billion to Israel on top of the $3.8 Billion we already send them every year. You got a little pressure from your corrupt colleagues, changed your vote to “present” and then wept about it…literally. Is that what political “talent” looks like? Israel was enjoying an economic surplus that year. We, on the other hand, were not. As for cashing checks, I’d respectfully ask you to remember who pays yours. It’s the people you’re lying to right now.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@AOC

@AnaKasparian I never have. Feel free to continue lying publicly, though. Those checks don’t cash themselves and you aren’t talented enough to be relevant with the truth.

The bill has been approved. Israeli prisons will turn into guillotines for Palestinians. Hundreds will be executed in the next few weeks. 9300 hostages now in Israeli custody. Dark day for humanity. Unforgettable memory in the Palestinian cause history.

The Canadian government bars French European Member of Parliament @RimaHas from entering the country but allows IDF soldiers complicit in genocide to freely enter and parade around our university campuses. This is totally egregious.

Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East
We are outraged to learn that Canada has banned @RimaHas, Member of the European Parliament for France, from entering the country ahead of her public talks on opposing fascism and liberating Palestine. In justifying its sudden reversal, Canada has cited the fact that apartheid Israel had blocked her delegation of European MEPs from entering its territory last year, and due to complaints made against her political advocacy. This follows a campaign by Israeli diplomats and the pro-Israel lobby who pushed for the ban. This indicates that Canada has decided to endorse Israel's accusations against a Palestinian refugee and European lawmaker. Instead of upholding its own laws, Canada is acting as an extension of Israel's apartheid system. We urge authorities to rescind this decision and explain this arbitrary act of censorship against a European official.
Rima Hassan@RimaHas

Canada writes these statements, but continue to supply Israel with weapons via the United States, and continues to buy weapons from Israel. Always performance and never real action.

Canada strongly condemns Israel’s plans to occupy territory in southern Lebanon. Lebanon’s sovereignty & territorial integrity must not be violated. Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel must cease and they must disarm.

The Canadian government of @MarkJCarney *abstained* - as did all of Washington’s pathetic vassals - on a UN General Assembly resolution condemning the enslavement of millions of Africans and the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Carney is wildly popular in Canada right now. What does that say about Canada? #cdnpoli @AnitaAnandMP

This quote by Netanyahu is offensive on multiple levels. It not only compares Jesus to Genghis Khan, but also suggests that the way of Jesus is naive, while a ruthless, “might makes right” approach—marked by relentless aggression—is what ultimately allows good to overcome evil. Netanyahu, and his Christian Zionist supporters, are making a mockery of the ethics of Jesus. That is the true offense.
