Depending on who I talk to, I feel either early or late to the party. But if you build with Python and haven't switched already, @astral_sh uv is awesome. Go for it. A quick 🧵 with a few notes and my own project template, in case others getting on the uv train find it helpful.

It was really valuable for me to stay at a single company long enough to live with the consequences of my own engineering decisions. To come face-to-face with my own technical debt. It takes a few years for this to play out but IMO it's an important part of engineering growth.

@tenobrus Most if not all of these public USB ports are used to collect info from your device, and some even install malware on your devices. Having USB ports is great, except for the security/ privacy risks and often slower charging they provide over using your own DC adapter

it's so fucked up how we *finally* got USB ports installed everywhere, in airports, cars, power strips, even furniture, and then literally 2 years later we all switched to USB-C and they became useless. a brief shining golden age, snuffed out.

@thiojoe I blame powershell for this, functions specifically use a params block. This is the same issue I have with functions vs methods. Funcs come from math terms for describing an action done with some given arguments, but someone one day decided to call them methods smh

Me when googling info about a program and deciding whether to use the term "parameters" or "arguments" depending on how I'm just feeling that day. Never bothered to look up whether there's a difference lol.
