This is so true. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve walked into a sports bar and they have lacrosse on ESPNU on TVs when a MEGA sporting event is on Happened last Friday during conference tournament weekend. They looked at my like I was speaking Alien

Went to a sports bar today to watch the tournament. We'd been there before, good food, good beer. Walked in and they had zero tournament games on. "Working on it." After one beer they still had zero games on. Mostly baseball and football re-runs on the TVs...a few TVs with a tournament app on, but "free trial expired.". Obviously, we left. I still don't actually understand any of it. How do you own a "sports bar" and not plan on having all the games on all day on one of the most important sports days of the year?

@JamesYoder The licensing bars have to do with Directv for example can be crazy expensive. 1000's of dollars depending on size. Some bars are cheap. DirecTV has agents that go out to bars etc looking non non compliance.

@JamesYoder You just ask them who their provider is and google the channel lineup and ask to change to channel 185 or whatever. The 22 year old bartender doesn’t know what games are on but they know how to change a channel.

@JamesYoder About 10 years ago when a buddy and I were at one of our favorite bars during March Madness the bar tenders just gave us the remotes and said "go crazy" because they knew they could trust us to find the good games. We tipped them well and they hooked us up with fireball 🤣
