Several prerequisites for our new leaders of both of our hoops teams, but a few (!) of the non-negotiables (in no particular order & again these aren’t the only ones): 🤘🏻Know how to curate a world class student-athlete experience 🤘🏻Proven winners including in the NCAA Tourney 🤘🏻Ability to compose an elite staff quickly 🤘🏻Track record & relationships to build a championship roster in weeks not months or years 🤘🏻Long term vision & commitment (including contractually) for not only where we are now, but where we’re going 🤘🏻Like-minded leaders with something to prove There’s no better time to be a Bull! @USFBullTampaBuc @Mike1625 Yeah, I saw the correction. Of course that means Bryan Hodgson essentially paid USF for the privilege of coaching here. HA!

@JimUSFSig @Mike1625 It was corrected today if Kelly had left in 2027 it would half off. But Hogdson has to pay the full 2 Million which gives USF a boatload of free money to play with for a bigtime coach next season most of salary will be covered.

MBB ramblings: We want a contract for our next coach that has a huge buyout after year 1 & maybe year 2. Force the hire to stay for 3 years…. But coaches will fight that. Rob has to find the balance for a contract that protects USF but doesn’t scare away talent. Condt.

@SOFLBULLS AGREED. But that is completely beyond the power of anyone at USF. Gotta have someone extend an opening. 2030-2031 can't get here fast enough.

@SOFLBULLS Objectively, it is a step up. Better conference. More history. More money. Right now USF is sullied by the dogshit conference.

@JimUSFSig And if this keeps happening I will be keeping my money. I also I can understand when a much larger program comes in a coaches someone. I just don't not see Providence as a step up in any way, but as I mentioned im not a basketball guy. And can not sustain like this.

@SOFLBULLS I hate to break it to you... but football is in the same boat. Hartline won't be coaching here for more than 3 years either if he has success. Such is our life now in the American.

@JimUSFSig No shut it down. We had a championship swim team one time. Just get rid of of this dead weight, fee up the real revenue generating money Football.

@SOFLBULLS Yes, come here, prove yourself, move up. Until USF gets out of the American that is the best possible outcome. The alternative is Brian Gregory.

@JimUSFSig Clearly im not a basketball guy, but you're afore mention plan is really not going to put any asses in the seats. A revolving door allowing up and coming coach's to cut their teeth on our dime only to move on immediately? Maybe they should just move over to the Corral.

LOL. To take the next step... prove that Arky State wasn't a fluke. USF -- in the American -- should be like VCU in the A-10. A launching pad for good coaches. Come to USF, win 20+ games, make the post season, and get a better gig in a year or two. Best case until realignment.

@JimUSFSig So why would he even come here in the first place? Sounds like we are at such a disadvantage we should just stop wasting money on the program as a whole.

@SOFLBULLS The Big East also gets more teams into the NCAAT than the American. Power schools will play Big East teams but not American teams, making it easier to get a higher NET rankings. Providence doesn't have to win their tournament to make March Madness. Can't beat that.

@JimUSFSig Seems like something we should be able to go up against and win out but I guess that's just my opinion.

@SOFLBULLS Well, they don't have football. That helps. And the Big East pays Providence about the same amount of TV revenue as the American pays USF. ($8M per year) And they are a private school.

@JimUSFSig I just don't see how in any world a small private school of maybe 5k students could in any way shape or form could have a bigger nil budget or money for that matter. Supposedly we have all this money and all these active alumni yet we can't. We can not continue on this path.

@SOFLBULLS USF doesn't promote Fowler Ave through advertising. Fowler and USF work much more closely together than some other schools, like that one north of Ocala.

@JimUSFSig I have you seen one advert for a usf collective either from the university or third party? I live in actual south Florida and see billboards daily promoting uf's collective. How are we even collecting nil funds?

Bob Richey would be a home run hire for Rob Higgins. John Groce would be a home run hire for Rob Higgins. Bobby Hurley would be a triple. Joe Gallo would be a triple.

South Florida should hire Antoine Pettway and not think twice about it.

@JimUSFSig If I understand correctly, I think Hodgson’s was $3m for 1 and done. Not unreasonable to bump that up to $3.5m without scaring off a top talent.
