@neurolauncher @maxkarpis You can use nfc with local banks as well, you don't have to open phone and read the qr. Idk why most people use qr

Will do Max!
Actually there's a really interesting dynamic in the Turkish market right now. For starters global payment systems like PayPal are banned here due to local data regulations. But here the crazy part even though Turkish banks are super modern and issue standard Visa and Mastercards locals still can't use Apple Pay. It’s mostly because of strict data localization laws by the local authorities and local banks not wanting to share commission fees with Apple. So instead of a simple NFC tap Turkish users are forced to unlock their phones, open a specific bank app and scan a QR code just to make a mobile payment.
The irony is that as a foreigner I can easily use my overseas Revolut card with Apple Pay everywhere in Istanbul without any issues while my local friends are stuck scanning QR. If revolut can offer a smoother NFC experience or somehow navigate the Apple Pay hurdle tech savvy users will flock to them instantly. With the Lira's volatility giving locals a seamless way to hold exchange, and spend in multiple currencies without massive bank spreads is highly demanded. Actually @getmidas has also stocks and etc but they dont have banking systems. It is just for investors super app
The important thing is ending money abroad from a Turkish bank account usually involves high SWIFT fees and terrible UX. Revolut's frictionless P2P and international transfers would solve a huge pain point.
I'll definitely keep an eye out and share any updates!

The Revolut app is now available on Google Play and the App Store in Turkey🇹🇷.
Users can't sign up for Revolut services, but they can presumably join the waitlist for the service's launch.
This indicates to me that Revolut plans to use its main app to offer services in Turkey, rather than developing a new app as it did in India.
This is another clear signal that Revolut is preparing to enter the Turkish market. The company has hired a core executive team in the country, and there was a rumour that Revolut is looking to acquire a local bank.

Only reason I use Github Copilot because my job forces me to for some bullshit safety reason or whatever
Gergely Orosz@GergelyOrosz
Actually, I do hear more startups “taking away” GitHub Copilot from devs - and no one is complaining at those places. Because those devs don’t use Copilot, and are on tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor agents etc. So companies just cancel the unused Copilot licenses.
