Steven Spielberg explains why he didn't like 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984) & why he felt he was fated to make the movie:
“I wasn’t happy with 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984) at all. It was too dark, too subterranean, & much too horrific.
I thought it out-poltered 'Poltergeist' (1982). There’s not an ounce of my own personal feeling in 'Temple of Doom'.
I look back and I say, ‘Well, the greatest thing that I got out of that movie was I met Kate Capshaw. We were married years later that to me was the reason I was fated to make 'Temple of Doom'.”

@JaybillsGames But Jak 2 and 3 had early 2000s edge which I don't think a modern studio would go for. Unless a smaller studio creates it, a new Jak game would just be a new Uncharted.

I just don't get Sony sometimes. The first Jak game was light hearted (and elite of course) but the other two games in the trilogy (also elite) fit the more mature themes we have nowadays. You can't convince me Jak and Daxter wouldn't sell, and be great in today's market.

@PCaldora The Jak and Daxter series was one of the best looking on the ps2. I think with modern design philosophy for videogames, they'd try to give the game realistic textures, and it would lose a lot of its charm.

Honestly, cool as this looked, I really don't think it needed a remake. It still looks and plays great even after 25 years, and it was easily accessible with the ports.

this morning I've been going through Sublo and Tangy Mustard stills for an upcoming panel. I'm so busy working that I don't reflect on it often, but man it's a pretty cool-looking show! it's not perfect but I'm proud of it and I love making it.

@aalong64 It's the same in the film industry here in NZ. Anyone's story I talk to who is of an older generation goes "Yeah, I was a school teacher (or something) and I just fell into doing film. My great uncle met some guys on a hike and became a cinematographer from that interaction.
