@JoeOwensMe Anyone claiming expertise in the cultural change and heritage of Liverpool should be capable of explaining their position in open debate, so I am challenging you to discuss that exact history directly rather than speaking around it with me.

For those who disagree with Joe Owens, please 🙏 offer a counterproposal to my suggestions regarding further cultural change instead of the usual nonsense. Should we continue to allow Liverpool to undergo cultural change, or should we put a stop to this transformation? Once again, proponents of cultural change, the ball 🥎 is in your court.

Spirit of Shankly stands in full solidarity with Ibrahima Konaté. Racist abuse has no place in football or society. It is cowardly and must be met with real consequences not just words. Players are not targets. They are people. We will always stand with our players. ✊🏼

Save yourself a click to spyware – The Liverpool Echo post highlights a UK government decision to scrap the Universal Credit two-child benefit limit from 6 April 2026, enabling families to claim the child element for all children and potentially gaining £3,650 extra per year per affected household. This reform targets over 400,000 low-income families on Universal Credit. Government projections estimate it will lift 450,000 children and 150,000 working-age adults out of relative poverty by 2030/31, based on DWP modelling. Introduced in 2017 to curb welfare costs, the limit faced criticism for deepening child poverty—now affecting 1.6 million children—prompting its reversal as part of the UK’s child poverty strategy, though the overall benefit cap remains.

The time has come to say goodbye to our wonderful Royal Iris of the Mersey @merseyferries. She has proudly served the region for over 60 years and will be officially retiring at the end of this month. 💙 The much-loved vessel, a familiar sight against the Liverpool and Wirral waterfront, will retire on 31 March, with a special weekend of farewell celebrations planned for Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March. The last sailing will be on Sunday 29 March and the vessel will be officially decommissioned on Tuesday 31 March. Read more here: merseyferries.co.uk/blog/other/roy…

@LivEchonews - Liverpool Echo now has to run a disclaimer explaining why it posts absolute shite all day. “Why we write trending stories” Because apparently Liverpool desperately needs 9 articles a day about some ITV extra, a soap actor’s haircut, and “fans all saying the same thing” about a woman who was on telly once in 2018. The best bit is them basically going: yes it’s not about Liverpool yes it looks like clickbait yes loads of people complain but actually loads of people read it so leave us alone Incredible stuff. Local journalism used to be exposing corruption and covering the city. Now it’s “You’ll never guess what viewers noticed” surrounded by 14 gambling ads and an autoplay video fighting for its life. “This is real journalism” Alright calm down lads, you’ve just written 600 words about a Coronation Street actor wearing a different coat. Honestly, fair play for the honesty though. Most sites just shovel out the bait. The Echo has gone one better and published the excuse note in advance.
