@Intel_scope Yes that's a solid rate! Is it 20 year term?
English

@LegacyPathCA My $500k is $328/year for wife and I. That's a good policy right?
English

Canadian households with no life insurance: nearly 1 in 3.
The average Canadian mortgage: $320,000.
The cost of $500,000 in term life insurance at age 27: roughly $28/month.
Less than a streaming subscription.
Enough to keep your family in their home if you don't come home.
What's your family protected by right now?
English

@MatthewSpositi Exactly bud. Especially when you have a mortgage and/or kids
English

@LegacyPathCA With term life being so cheap, it doesn’t make any sense not to have any
English

@DimriLogic Smart move. Term did its job covering the mortgage and now the whole life gives you permanent coverage
English

@LegacyPathCA When we got house, started a term for > mortgage, now mortgage is less n term stay same.
Then, got a whole life with some cash value. N It's not investment 😕
English

@LegacyPathCA I might just do that Erik. Thank you.
English

@TheBTCKnight Nice! If you ever have any questions I'm happy to help
English

@TheBTCKnight Smart having something in place, minimal is better than nothing
English

@LegacyPathCA Both my wife and I have life insurance but it’s minimal.
English

@Neni536975 Exactly right, it should be a no brainer when you can protect your family for a low cost
English

@LegacyPathCA We insure our cars, phones, and homes. Our families deserve at least the same consideration.
English

@LazaroInvestor Anytime bro 🤝
Happy to help more if you have questions
English

@LazaroInvestor Personally, I work with Desjardins but there are other good options like Manulife, Sun Life and Canada Life.
English

@LegacyPathCA Any good suggestions for any insurance company? Need to look into one
English

@LegacyPathCA Go XEQT for your core longterm foundation. Add VFV only if you want to overweight US tech ....
English

Canadian investors 🇨🇦
Let’s settle the debate:
XEQT or VFV inside your TFSA?
XEQT 🌍
→ 9,000+ companies globally
→ Built in diversification across 50+ countries
→ 0.20% MER
→ One fund does everything
VFV 🇺🇸
→ 500 of America's greatest companies
→ Strong historical US market returns
→ 0.09% MER
→ Pure S&P 500 exposure
Which one are you holding and why?

English

@LuisDGentili Solid guide for beginners!
It really is that easy
English

@TheCADInvestor Right on. I'm also using mine for long term plays
English

@LegacyPathCA Definitely. There’s very little in my TFSA that is not a long term hold. Just a few individual equity moonshot type plays.
English

WOW! Our first 1,000 followers.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement. In the words of Tina Turner, you are all Simply The Best!
Thank you all for your content and daily interaction, such a great forum for sharing different views and trading styles, from people of all corners of the world at all stages of their own personal or professional journeys. FinX is singlehandedly the best financial online community out here by a country mile.
80% of our growth has come in just the last few months, and 50% of it in the last month or so. Which goes to prove - stay focused, avoid politics like the plague, engage and have fun. The world isn't one big chart, enjoy the journey.
Love you all. Oh, and I win the bet with my partners who bet that we would never reach this milestone in the first year, who then doubled down in March when we were still at 300. Anniversary is June 8.
As always, its all about timing. 🤣

English

@TheCADInvestor Solid strategy! Are the tech and semis long term holds for you?
English

@LegacyPathCA My strategy is TFSA used fully for growth tilt given the full tax free nature. My TFSA is highly concentrated in U.S, tech, and semis. $VFV.TO, $QQC.TO, $SMH, $FTEC all major TFSA holdings.
$XEQT in RRSP is the “diversification” of my overall portfolio.
English

@ChizaramNelo VFV has cleared XEQT over the last decade.
That said, many people prefer the global diversification for the long haul.
English

@LegacyPathCA Common , I thought we have had this discussion before , $VFV clears and it’s not close
English

@TheCADInvestor Nice! Personally I’m holding more XEQT in my TFSA right now, but debating adding more VFV for the growth tilt
English

@LegacyPathCA I have ~38% of my TFSA allocated to $VFV
RRSP is 100% $XEQT.TO
Both are great options for anyone looking for a set and forget index fund
