This is ridiculous. Arteta winning Manager of the Year while serving up some of the most boring, uninspired football in the league is a joke. Football has truly fallen if mediocrity and negativity are being rewarded over innovation, ambition and entertaining play. This isn’t a celebration of excellence, it’s a reward for taking the game backwards. On top of everything, Arteta hasn’t won anything of real value. Why reward someone who hasn’t proven themselves with tangible success? Slot, in his very first Premier League season, wins the league in an impressive, commanding manner, he’s the one who should be taking this award not Arteta. This just highlights how out of touch these accolades have become.
