@dannybster We need the Earl of Lytton's buildingsafetyscheme.org consumer protection legislation for buildings urgently to restore trust in UK construction and end the partial PAS9980 remediations condemning people to permanently high insurance around the country.

Our prime minister Sir @Keir_Starmer told the House of Commons yesterday (Apr 17) that he had not been told of the failure of @lordmandelson to pass vetting until this week. However his team was told 8 months earlier in the following WhatsApp message sent by David Maddox of @Independent to the then director of comms at @10DowningStreet Tim Allan. My experience with the Labour run @Royal_Greenwich council denying the existence of all evidence of unlawful construction at 8 tall tower blocks in Woolwich and then refusing to withdraw the false position follows the same pattern. We have dishonesty and cover up culture in public life and this needs to stop. @MrOkereke's council is even attracting international condemnation for his authorised council position denying the existence of all evidence of unlawful dangerous building safety defects at build at 8 tall tower blocks in Woolwich by a former state Premier of Victoria Australia! When will he withdraw this false council position? When will he learn the lessons of Grenfell. His silence for over a year shows he has no answers.

How a local authority can deny expert opinion is staggering and beyond me. Is their plan to wait for a fire and find out who is right? I can only imagine it's having a negative effect on the value of your properties, who would want to purchase a flat with that advice?

Labour shouldn't be allowed to continue failing residents IN Greenwich. Vote them out.

The Cladding Matters Podcast covers the ongoing denials by Greenwich Council of dangerous and unlawful building safety defects at 8 tall towers in West Thamesmead despite being sent all the evidence. Since then Royal Borough of Greenwich has threatened a resident from the development with harrassment allegations if they continue to ask for the council to stop denying all their evidence of unlawful construction exists.

What do Greenwich council know about building safety that makes them more qualified than… The London fire brigade, world leading cladding companies and most importantly, the courts. These buildings have to be remediated properly. It is also important that @mtpennycook and @SteveReedMP realise that local councils are more often than not, the bad actors in these disputes.

The Building (Amendment) Regulations, SI 2018/1230 came into force on 21 December 2018. The amendment prohibits the use of combustible materials anywhere in the external walls of high-rise buildings over 18m above ground level, containing one or more dwellings. So why is @BarrattHomes trying to keep combustible materials on the homes of 1000+ people at Royal Artillery Quays if they are banned for new buildings? The longer it stays up, the worse it will be. Such a shame we have such dishonesty in public life.

The behaviour of @Royal_Greenwich denying all evidence of unlawful construction at RAQ, head of legal threats of harassment against a worried resident and the appalling behaviour of certain Greenwich @UKLabour councillors is surprising in light of the recommendations of the Grenfell Inquiry.
