This is actually true. Obama’s presidency did usher in an era of decline.
Oh, not economic decline. Obama presided over an 8 year economic expansion. He was a bad ass on the economy.
It ushered in the rise of the Tea Party within the Republican Party, and the Tea Party was the precursor to the MAGA cult.

They flipped from Democrat to Republican in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

This is why lifetime positions in the Supreme Court must be abolished. All it took to take America back to the days of Jim Crow was six woefully out of touch conservative Supreme Court justices to gut The Civil Rights Act.
