Every additional angle of this palace that has blessed my timeline, I have shown immediately to my Bf and pronounced, "stunning", whilst shaking my head in utter disbelief.

The Northern Ireland housing market is absolutely bleak. Our house has been listed for sale for a month and we have only had one viewing. 3 bedrooms, fully renovated over the last two years, right by the coast, for under £230,000. Anyone want it?

It would be altogether a more interesting piece if Diana was asked what she meant by this comment. Ministers are politicians, aren’t they there to make decisions?
Conor Coyle@ccoyle212
UUP MLA @Diana_uup described the minister's actions as "not only inappropriate, it points to a wider and deeply troubling pattern of political forces exerting undue influence over the Department for the Economy and Invest NI"

Wishing the Irish in Ireland and around the world a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Ukraine deeply appreciates Ireland’s significant support at the political, economic, and humanitarian level, as well as the shelter your country has given to thousands of Ukrainians.
May peace and plenty bless your world
With a joy that long endures
And may all life’s passing seasons
Bring the best to you and yours.

@michaelcarre It’s really telling that it was grand for her to be perm sec in the home office (after Int Trade and DoJ) but heaven forbid she is Cab Sec. really dispels those ‘senior civil servants aren’t political’ stuff as former PS pop up on TV demanding downing st talks to them
English

@Clavdivs1 I think there’s a tragedy to Starmer given he has ‘operational’ experience as DPP he should know and identify problems within the system created by govt and be clear on how to streamline them. But the revealing bit in that piece was his total lack of intellectual curiosity
English

Enjoying the @ShippersUnbound piece in the mag with a pint as it should be & this extract really hit me. What McSweeney & Cummings fail to grasp is this is not a recalcitrant civil service but decades of government passing awful legislation that makes it impossible to do anything

@michaelcarre I really love the fact that they think it’s a defence that Mandelson lied. Starmer is a former DPP doesn’t say much for his past experience if he was so easily duped, reason enough to dump him.

@timcairns I would imagine it is the cost and I’m not saying that figure is true reflection or not only that some can involve more than just officials, as you say they’ll still be employed. But as I said, cost is a side point. How much do they contribute to scrutiny is the real issue.
English

@Lightyear_87 Sure, but a crude calculation of questions divided by salary, salary which is what I suspect the NICS does to be clever and try and avoid scrutiny, is not how you calculate the cost. The person answering would be employed whether the question comes in or not, presumably anyway
English

Assembly questions do not cost £700. If they do rather than use that as a stick to beat MLAs, Ministers should be finding out why it’s so expensive here when the cost is much lower elsewhere. Part of an MLAs job is to ask questions. The cost is irrelevant, Minsters should ensure costs are kept to a minimum
English

@timcairns Costs higher in those depts that need to go to their sponsor bodies (in DoJ Prisons/Police) as involves more and more people. Though issue of cost is a side one, point of the Q was to highlight MLAs asking wasteful questions that have nothing to do with scrutiny
English

For the avoidance of any doubt, the BBC was absolutely correct to ask the questions they asked Jon Burrows, they were simply responding to information that Naomi long had put in the public domain. However, in my view the £700 figures he stated is either wrong or so outrageous that rather than tweet about it she should be telling her Perm Sec to wise up and get the costs down urgently to around the £90 it costs in Scotland!

@samueljenkinson Whitney going in hard for production and Mary’s tears were comical. Where was the outrage at heather admitting she lied about the black eye that production took heat over…..

It’s quite funny that today there is a cohort of middle aged billionaire men who in a past era would have competed for the America’s Cup or set Hot Air Ballooning World Speed records but due to the destruction of youth hobbies and elevation of the ‘grind set’ work mentality are instead spending the last years of their prime searching for meaning by arguing with anonymous accounts on X.

Love how unceremonious Roy Keane's entrance was. He just walked out. No messing round. #LateLateToyShow

There is a truly laughable level of hysteria around this tweet. It’s actually not that deep, you need to come back to reality.
