So after 7 weeks and countless different strategic justifications for the war (remember when it was to sink the Iranian Navy), we have now the administration saying that the war has only one purpose. And that is to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapons program. Wasnt that what Trump "obliterated" last year?

President Trump told me today he isn't thinking about extending the ceasefire. He doesn't think it will be necessary. "I think you’re going to be watching an amazing two days ahead," he said. "I really do." I asked if the war ends with a deal, or "do you just say, look, we knocked out their capability and that’s it?" TRUMP: "It could end either way, but I think a deal is preferable because then they can rebuild. They really do have a different regime now. No matter what, we took out the radicals. They’re gone, no longer with us." And he made this extraordinary claim: "If I weren’t president, the world would be torn to pieces."

Vance says that stopping funding for Ukraine is one of his proudest achievements in this administration. ​I’m watching this stunningly cruel speech from Ukraine, as Russia continues to kills us every day. Just today, they killed 8-year-old boy in Cherkasy and five people in Dnipro. Dozens more were injured. ​The military assistance you are so proud of stopping was used to save lives in a war Russia started and continues every day by choice, in a war that only became possible after USA pressured Ukraine into disarming... ​I do not know if Vance can fully comprehend the scale of the tragedy unfolding here: a brutal, illegal war of extermination by Russia, and the slow abandonment by our allies. There is nothing to be proud of. Absolutely nothing.
