Personally I think the behavior of fans at the Ryder Cup is a bigger problem for pro golf/golf culture than having Kevin hart at the masters par 3, which is a goof anyway. The rope hats are a symptom though and Augusta National should be crushing, not feeding tastelessness.

I feel like Chairman Ridley may have a different opinion on this if he spectated the mob scene of young patrons that developed as a few of the dude perfect members stepped out to watch some of yesterdays practice round. Their only reprieve coming when Bryson finished on 9 and began his usual lengthy autograph filled walk back to the club house. There is no doubt to many traditionalist this was below the Augusta National standard, but I do think there’s a valid argument to be made about the need for creating golf adjacent entertainment focused on drawing youth into the game.
