This is a war crime, FYI, attendees at the Toronto "Walk for Israel" event. It's a monstrous thing to inflict upon a civilian population. To celebrate Israel, especially now, could bear future legal consequences. At least, this should be true if international law was applied universally and fairly.

I'm a refugee lawyer, which means I know all about the tests to meet for legal complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Walk for Israel event itself is a form of propaganda intended to whitewash or "normalize" the current and escalating genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, etc. Politico, influencers, event coordinators could-- theoretically if the international legal order doesn't entirely collapse at this pivotal moment--be held to account before an international court for complicity to genocide/ethnic cleansing. I could also affect participants future admissibility to countries that oppose the genocide and uphold the rule of law

This is what I learned from someone familiar with the investigation. According to the information provided to me, Esther was captured on video surveillance inside a store in the Rexdale area. That sighting gave investigators an area to focus on. Police then conducted extensive door to door canvassing in the neighbourhood, seeking additional video surveillance from homes and businesses. Investigators were able to follow Esther’s movements through multiple video sources, which ultimately led them to a residence where she was located in a basement apartment. Esther was safely recovered from the home. An adult male, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was also taken from the residence by police. As is standard in a case like this, Esther will undergo a medical assessment to ensure her well-being and to help investigators better understand what occurred during the time she was missing. The adult male will also be interviewed as investigators work to establish the full circumstances surrounding her disappearance and recovery. As far as I know, there is no provision in the Criminal Code that requires a private citizen to notify police that they have seen or are with a missing young person. Simply failing to report that fact is not, by itself, a criminal offence. That said, based on my experience as a former homicide investigator, there are a number of questions police will now be examining. How did this man come into contact with Esther? How did she end up at the basement apartment? What was the nature of their relationship, if any? Were there communications between them before she disappeared? Investigators will also be looking for evidence of possible child luring. In simple terms, luring involves using communication, persuasion, influence, or deception to attract a young person into a situation for an unlawful purpose. They may also examine whether there is evidence of grooming, a process by which an adult gradually develops trust, influence, or an emotional connection with a young person for the purpose of exploitation. Police will also be investigating whether there is any evidence of any form of assault, forcible confinement, interference with a child, or any other Criminal Code offence supported by the evidence. That does not mean any of those offences occurred. It simply means investigators have a duty to examine every possibility and follow the evidence wherever it leads. For now, the most important fact is that Esther has been found alive and returned safely. Her recovery was the result of extraordinary police work, relentless investigative effort, and valuable assistance from members of the community who helped investigators piece together her movements and ultimately bring her home.

Hello everyone, its Mohamad Fakih. Since Tuesday, a great deal has been said about Paramount Fine Foods. Unfortunately, much of the public narrative being presented by the Mayor does not reflect the actual facts. Let me be absolutely clear. This is not a case of Paramount refusing to pay. To demonstrate my commitment to paying the amount, Paramount delivered cheques to the City for the full amount based on the agreed payment terms. I have been actively trying to resolve this matter since December. Since then, the City continued introducing additional conditions and unreasonable demands that made it impossible to reach a final resolution. I have text messages with Mayor Carolyn Parrish that tell a very different story than the one she claims in her statement. Quite honestly, I’m astounded by Mayor Parrish’s handling of this entire situation and the false statements that have been made. Her suggestion that this was some kind of unilateral termination by the City is completely false and we have proof to support this. When I reassumed control of Paramount Fine Foods in 2025, I no longer believed the sponsorship arrangement was viable. Following discussions I personally had with the Mayor, we mutually agreed to end the sponsorship. So that everyone is clear, the outstanding amount connected to this sponsorship was NOT something I personally created or was responsible for. It was an obligation that existed before I returned to lead the company. But because I love this city and respect the taxpayers of Mississauga, I will always be committed to paying the agreed owing amount. I have never waivered. I am not in the business of disclosing confidential communication on social media. But If I need to, I will release these messages because I will not allow a misleading narrative to stand unchallenged. What is deeply disappointing is watching our Mayor publicly target a Mississauga business that has invested millions into this city, created jobs, supported charities, and was honoured with a Key to the City… while threatening to spend significant taxpayer dollars on legal action and prolonging a public dispute unnecessarily, despite our willingness to pay for months. This was a solvable matter. Instead, it was turned into a public spectacle. Mississauga residents deserve honesty and leadership focused on solving problems, not creating public fights. It's good that Esti was found safe. She likely just ran away from home and had a dispute with her parents. Still terrifying for her parents. This will likely disappear from the news cycle now. Fair enough. They just want to get on with their lives. But, a number of people insinuated that she was in more danger than the average teen because she's Jewish is disturbing. We needed to apply extra resources because she's Jewish. Politicians all weighed in on this. And politicians of all stripes weighed in on her signs being taken down. The reason people were annoyed with the posters, is because of the extra resources she got. Where were the extra resources for Shay RedHead of Manitoba. Why did Pierre say nothing about her? Why is a Jewish girl missing more important than an indigenous girl missing. Any reasonable person capable of looking up statistics could tell you that a missing native girl is in far more danger than a missing Jewish girl. Pierre's servitude to the Jews is so brazenly transparent. This just drives it home further.
