I managed to get an insane build going for my favorite character, it can heal! What's going on? - I have a shield ability on a super low cooldown, I spam it every second and it gives (at this level) 900+ in radius - Beam of light gives 60HP/s. Healer on top.

@Gothalion Yes YOU, the Bungie die hards love what they do. But the playerbase that makes the game thrive - casuals (people who work on weekends or can't play often) will not enjoy it.

A game for everyone is a game for no one. I’ll be curious how bungies “get good or get fucked” approach pans out. Frankly I like it. Specific niche experiences are always more rich/robust. Shifting the window for limited time modes regularly would be a strong move. Curious to see how the playerbase shifts in size over time. As it currently stands, I have VERY LITTLE opportunity to play Cryo archive and that’s just how it is. Looks sick tho
Riloe@RiloeGaming

It's really crazy that Bungie could have made an approachable, mainstream compatible, bog-standard extraction shooter, and instead decided to make one of the most brutal, highest skill ceiling, creatively designed multiplayer experiences of all time

@Tedd_zero Do you want the game to thrive or only keep its die hard base?

Do you want a meaningful endgame that certain people will choose to overcome, and therefore make the difficulty of it lucrative for ambitious players? A genuine goal to achieve? Or another unambitious strike map that becomes routine? You cant have both without losing something.
Paul Tassi@PaulTassi

to clarify, I think that the concept of the content is good and pretty wild, but is it good in terms of drawing players to the game or engaging 95% of the existing base? Ehhhh

Cryo is a weekend event like trials, raids can be done at ANY TIME. You can't compare them when a good chunk of people who work during that weekend time can't play it. Me talking about casuals are the ones who can't play as much as others / can't play on weekends. Today is a Saturday - the event is out, playable and BRAND NEW... not really seeing the "success" you are. Raids in Destiny basically revived the game yet the big event Cryo Archives has done nothing. Clearly something needs to change.

@LuminToast @NuCaloric destiny released raids year after year, some harder some easier in fairness but they weren't aimed at casual players. any lfg experience makes this obvious. and yet the destiny became one of their biggest franchises. the method clearly works

GUY IN 2014: The piece of content that was supposed to be make or break for Destiny, the thing that would revolutionize everyone's experience and give a point to the game as a whole... Is seemingly inaccessible to a large portion of players who play solo?

Current content creators in the battlefield scene aren't bringing in new players. Why would they sponsor someone the community already knows when they can get someone who has a ton of people who likely don't play the game -- give it a shot because their favorite streamer is now playing it?

It was originally an achievement in Marathon 2 called "Bob-B-Q" where you kill 77 Bobs (guys that help you in a mission) they later referenced that logo in Halo which is likely why you're asking. Since they still own the rights to the original Marathon this is completely legal even if they didn't alter it again.

Try VA. Proxy -- That game is currently in development but has a demo, it definitely does NOT hold your hand. Depending on the gear you choose at the start will decide your difficulty more or less. The demo is kinda bare and starting it feels like a challenge (hit "E" to start the game in the main menu. Aside from that there are other hard games, you just need to actually explore games instead of accepting what you see.

@KnownAsSys Well it is a Bungie game. You should expect them to remove any movement tech because they consider it a "bug / exploit". As a "Destiny 2 PvP main" surely this isn't surprising.

Holy shit, these people would've nerfed fucking wavedashing in smash if they could. Genuine brainlet troglodytes that can't stand to see an OUNCE of movement evolution. The damn slide required to cancel the grapple even builds heat, but it's not enough. Let's just go nerf everything fun, y'know? State sponsored movement abilities and nothing else. This mindset is EXACTLY what got double icarus dash and stompies nuked. No one is safe from retarded monkeys that refuse to learn the tech that makes games at a high level fun.

Because it's not normal. It's more typical for a game to have a small % of people reviewing it. Not trying to trigger the stat haters but... ~50k players for 24hr peak with a whole 33k reviews and it is only 86% positive. Meanwhile the card game Slay the Spire 2 which is still over 500K players currently has 55k reviews at 94%, again not a hater - but very clear it's not normal to have that many people review it without trying to force positivity. We've seen this same thing with Destiny.

If "no one cares" he shouldn't care about other people's opinion. Maybe he should listen to his own words and "shut the fuck up". It's always the toxic positivity crowd to make this kind of claim. All they want is the positivity echo chamber. And it's always hilarious when someone who does play the game and critiques things - are flamed for being "bad at" any given genre. I've seen multiple posts on various games where someone who's literally a casual player getting stomped by other players or AI - complaining about it and having that same "positivity / inclusive" crowd just go "well obviously this game isn't for you because you're not skilled enough. There's no winning with these people. Either you agree with them or you're a "hater". So stupid.

Former Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan calls out gaming’s “nerd baby rage” grifters "If a game comes out and you don't want to play it—and you've never even played it—shut the f**k up. No one cares. We don't need to hear that you're not into it."

Showing you the real population on a platform, informing potential players what the current population is and how well it's really performing outside of content creators telling you "it's good", I really don't see the damage with that. Quality games are quality games, player counts don't affect quality. What's weird is the correlation between not so quality game's and their community hating on stats.

@AnamorphicNC @EndymionYT @TheTrueVanguard That's not what this is about. All the super fans of Marathon have shown their hate of Steam charts because it shows the game isn't as popular as Bungie or other fans expected. They would rather have data not exist so people think it's popular, when it's really not.

@EndymionYT @TheTrueVanguard You missed the point, people are posting single player games like elden ring only having 40 k players. Games that people play that have a ending and no pvp are not devalued because of lack of players years later. This is the 1 out of 10 times I disagree with your opinion.

My genuine recommendation for gamers on this platform is to go ahead and block posters who consistently share Steamchart numbers to rage bait. Their contributions are inauthentic and meant to bait reactions for money on the platform. It’s not real discourse and has no value. But X as a platform catches on quickly when an account gets lots of blocks and promotes their content less. We can collectively make this content appear less by refusing to engage with it and blocking it instead. Yes, I’ve seen the several posts this morning from the usual suspects. And I went ahead and blocked them so I don’t have to see it anymore.

It's weird that everyone who seemingly loves Marathon is so against data clarity. Y'all wanted Bungie to be clear on what was/is going on but if it at all shows a low population to the game you like, all of a sudden it's a problem? If Xbox and Playstation actually posted numbers we wouldn't have to look at Steam charts to get an idea on success/popularity.
