The last few months I've been re-reading Jane Austens work. My favorite remains Pride and Prejudice, while my least favorite is Emma. What about you?

@BandCgames Aw! I just realized I've already read one of them 'Mr. Darcy: Cogs Maketh the Man' it says I borrowed it from KU in 2022! From what I remember, it was fun.

@MGWriting It's about a whole family that lives in debtor's prison because the father is in debt. They allow the daughter out to work in the day time. She get's a weird job in a house full of secrets...and I'd rather not spoil the rest. Despite her poverty there are two men vying for her.

What's your favorit Dickens title? I'm reading Great Expectations for the first time. (I've not read anything else by him yet.)

@MGWriting One is a steampunk P&P with the POV from Mr. Darcy. It lets me show off the scenes you miss because of the Lizzy POV of the original. It has one reference to prostitutes - just a reference, no scene. The other is a West World style story in a Jane Austen theme park. 100% clean.

@MGWriting I think maybe because it has more tangible plot rather than being character development in its growth as a story.

@BHolshouserUS Definitely 3rd person and I prefer past but like present as well. First in past tense is okay when the writer knows what they are doing. First presence.... horrible. Its always so jaring for the first few chapters.

Let's run this on X and see if the results differ. What's your preference for reading fiction? Appreciate reposts for a bigger sample 🙏

@paulettya Persuasion is my third favorite. I'm not sure why I cant get in to Emma. I had to set it aside this time round.

@MGWriting We were talking about this only today. Tis the season, I guess. My fave is certainly P&P while least fave is probably - Mansfield Park? Quite fond of Emma, but Persuasion is better.

@BandCgames Sense and Sensibility is my second favorite of hers. Tell me how you have switched things up in your books and maybe I will check them out. Are they safe content wise for a 15 year old? Of so my daughter might enjoy them.

@MGWriting My favourite is Sense and Sensibility. I find Persuasion to be the most painful to read. I've written some Jane Austen variations if you're interested...

@MGWriting David Copperfield. Especially the first half - one of the greatest things in literature. The second half is pretty good too.
