The very young and the old should stay indoors or in the shade for the hottest part of the day. Do not do any strenuous activity when it's really hot. Remember Dr Mosley on his final walk. Common sense should prevail.

#mattallwrighton5 Stop frightening people about the temperature. People go on holiday to experience very high temperatures and should know how to protect themselves. Slap on sunscreen and drink plenty of fluids but not alcohol, as it dehydrates you.
