A South African truck driver was forced to resign after being mistaken for a foreign national in a video The driver (a local South African) was stopped, likely during protests and tensions over foreign truck drivers taking jobs. A crowd accused him of being a foreigner (possibly because he didn’t speak Zulu fluently. He was confronted aggressively. In the video, he was reportedly pressured/threatened into resigning immediately. His phone was allegedly broken when he tried to record the incident. He stated he was accused of being a foreigner “in my own country” and felt victimised.

South Africa and morocco are the first 2 African nations to the qualify for the knock out stages. The CAF Champions League Final this year was between ASFAR and Sundowns. Guess where they're from ? You can't cheat Football. You'll always be reward when you invest into Football.

Hugo Broos has not done what's never been done before. Bafana Bafana has, in the world cups, performed at this level before. Difference is we've qualified for the next stage. Kudos to him for that.

As it stands, these African teams will be going through to the round of 32 e.g South Africa, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cape Verde and Morocco. Just shows you how much the gap between African teams and the traditional football superpowers Europe and South America has reduced.

Yesterday was a great example of my problem with soccer. We drive 2 hours to go watch the Belgian game - in a GLOBAL TOURNAMENT, mind you. We sit there for an hour and a half and literally *nothing* happens. Overtime isn't sudden death, it's just whatever extra time until the refs decide everybody has played enough. Which they do, and then everybody just...goes home - with it 0-0 in a tournament. What was even the point? It's like the match never even happened. Other than it being surprising how many Iranian flags there were, it was a pointless excursion. Thank god for the soccer fan energy, otherwise this entire spectacle would be a complete waste of time.
