@AceHarlem299840 Nah explain this shit for me. How? This location was already a mixed bag of cultures, and had been so for 100 years. The people there wanted autonomy for their actions.
There’s no segregation going no, no “promised land from 3000 years ago”, what could POSSIBLY be seen that way
English

@DanHarmone All three of which show immense power rivaling the destructive capability of Aangs “uncontrolled power” but still controlled. They intentionally weakened the avatar state, so that tension can still exist when the mc has control over the “win” state.
English

@DanHarmone It can be both intentional and a downgrade my man. In the og series we have three different situations showcasing the power of a “realized” avatar state. This is 1. Roku decimating the temple. 2. Kyoshi separating an island from a continent. And 3. Aangs final battle
English

As i keep saying. If the Avatar State feels different, that’s intentional, not a downgrade. In Aang’s era, it looks terrifying because he can’t control it 💀 It’s a last-resort survival mechanism that overrides him, which is why it feels explosive and chaotic.
By Korra’s time, the point is that she learns control earlier, so it’s used deliberately instead of erupting. That doesn’t make it child’s play, it just means it’s not randomly nuking everything around her. Controlled power will always look less dramatic than uncontrolled power. Thats just presentation.
And the show goes out of its way to prove it’s not a free win anyway. She gets neutralized by Amon, matched by Unalaq, broken by Zaheer, and pushed by Kuvira. If it was really child’s play, those fights wouldn’t even exist.
Also funny bringing up the upcoming Aang era stuff like it proves anything, if anything, that just reinforces that different Avatars use the same power differently depending on their journey. That’s been the point since day one.
People just seem to miss this
KACHI 🎎@Kachidey4you
I think the writers for Legend of Aang is the same for Korra cus they just made Avatar state look like childs play🤦🏽
English

@GoldenGordon13 @CandyyAshes They say Christian ideals cause it’s “good vs evil” like “Jesus vs Satan”.
English

@GoldenGordon13 @CandyyAshes Then it’s just Zoroastrianism. There’s no “yin yang” mixed into it except for a minimal amount of aesthetics.
Also yes evil is a “depravity” but there’s also an existence who’s whole point is to spread depravity and corrupt others (Satan) which is where the idea comes from
English

Them existing to christianize the spirit world and avatar myths is like how the Dragon's Dogma anime removed the buddhism themes for the seven deadly sins
j. ☾@firelorddany
your unpopular opinions on raava and vaatu
English

@ATenaciousDad @CandyyAshes Vaatu was free from Raava for like a week and caused strife, destruction and corrupted spirits, invoking actual war between humans and spirits. What are you talking about
English

@IntraHikari @CandyyAshes If it was Yin and Yang, they wouldn’t have made Vaatu unabashedly evil. His “chaos” would represent creative, creation and change. Compared to Raava whose “order” should’ve been “stability, unchanging, stagnant” rather than “good”.
English

@IntraHikari @CandyyAshes Dog, no. Vaatu is unabashedly evil. He needs to lose in every fight so the world isn’t destroyed (they said so themselves) and when he WAS free, his whole thing was causing chaos (bad) and corrupting spirits into their EVIL forms.
English

@NMarine77 @TwinkLit42 That’s not to mention that a general “sex god” in modern day is usually about “free love” rather than Slaanesh’s whole “sex till death” and “sex murder” thing
English

@NMarine77 @TwinkLit42 The problem is you already know what they said and still continued on the wrong track. The point is that Slaanesh is a god of “excess pleasure”. When they think he’s a “sex god” they see it in this “happy fun la la time” when it’s not.
English

Corny as fuck but yes Slaanesh is actually terribly bad and no she is not a sex god can we move past that as a community

@Analogs_Hell @MasonProOffcial No, the original punish line was entirely around an incident where Ashley said it and it almost sounded like it. They’re calling back to what happening prior, rather than making fun of the fact the word itself sounds like the n word
English

@MasonProOffcial The joke here is that he made an unsavory joke. When he made the joke, the punchline was entirely around it sounding like he said a slur
English

fairly effective opening
its kinda boring that for the intro its just different Avatars
it also feels weird that Aang and Zuko took stolen land and was like "it's actually for EVERYONE now" instead of just giving back to who they stole it from and finding somewhere else

@MrOvis_ A little off topic but I HATE the watsonian answers for this Doylist post.
OP is saying he hates what the WRITERS did to metal bending, that he wishes they kept it the way it originally was cause it felt better. He’s not asking about the IN UNIVERSE reason why it changed
English

This scene is a good example of my issue with metalbending in Korra. In the original series, Toph had to be in physical contact with the metal, because it was much harder to bend than actual earth, because she was bending the impurities within it.
Meanwhile, the metal bending in Korra is basically the opposite, they actually bend with far more precision than anyone bends earth with, which doesn't make any sense.
It's kinda in the same vein as the lavabending, where instead of applying any actual logic to it, they treated the bending as pure sorcery. Korra doesn't learn it from anyone, she just has it, because she has more Bending Midiclorians than everyone else, I guess.

Am I the only one thinks thinks this looks... bad?
•tr1stan⛷️@nuel_irl
I would rewatch the whole show like this.
English

@naMnaSYt Very much disagree.
Ty Lee is far from an awful person, being forced to follow Azula despite the fact she never wanted to. She grapples with the fear of retribution if she disagrees with Azula. Now she finally has a chance to turn her life around and get out of Azulas oppresion
English

I have mixed feelings on this
I like Ty Lee, and the Kyoshi Warriors learning her fighting style and Chi Blocking makes them more of a problem
but, Ty Lee is never really a good person. She only betrayed Azula because she didn't want Mai to get killed

@aangdaily While I agree for the most part, I do want to say it’s really only a terrifying possession due to Aangs inexperience with it. I certainly agree it’s not something you use whenever, like a good “ultimate” it should only be saved until it’s dire.
English

The worst writing decision they made in recent stories was reducing the Avatar State to just a power-up. What made it compelling before was how it felt like a terrifying possession overtaking the Avatar’s body, not something you’d pop out after every minor inconvenience
namnas@naMnaSYt
no Avatar State before or since has had aura like this
English

@r_blankk @kidomaki_real You know what, that’s fair. That’s my bad for not understanding it was playing on what they said
English

@MailBlas2 @kidomaki_real because harmonic convergence also boosted korra's opponent
and korra's oppinent was unalaq AND vaatu, while korra was just korra
so similar to aang vs ozai, harmonic convergence was a bigger boost for korra's opponent
English

She just needed the boost from Harmonic convergence in the literal spirit world, and the Deus ex machina known as Jinora. Aside from that she did it all by herself, of course.
Noxa@kenny_gng
The same way she defeated the embodiment of darkness without the help of an ancient magical staff to boost her AS
English

@KestrelAspen @Dreezy_carv I can’t believe she’d say something like this. What a monster
English

Some of you would beliave a tweet saying "I AM AN EVIL AND I LOVE KICKING BABIES FOR FUN MWAH HAHAHA"
𝐍𝐨𝐢𝐫𝐞🜏@scytheofdespair
Btw, this aint even goose first time defending a sexual predator as a “joke” cause the fact that she said chris chan, the person who rape their own mother, is a good representation of trans people is fucking insanity
English

@Chiquaquou @51plus49 @Gerald2310_ @heartgorealice Hey, reread the tweet and tell me where she said that. Thanks
English

@YouRInferior2Me @51plus49 @Kintoki0690 Dawg can YOU read? The original post called Eve “skinny” and she replied “how fat to do you have to be to think this is skinny”. No where in there did she say Eve was fat, nor obese. Just “isn’t skinny”. Maybe you’re the one who’s so fucking dumb they can’t read
English

@51plus49 @Kintoki0690 Because you’re retarded hope this helps.
You’re either
A: Lying about what you originally meant in your caption
B: Genuinely so Fucking dumb you don’t know how to communicate effectively
Choose an option no other choices are right
