@MuseZack Wow, love your observation about the Sheridan shows. Spot on. Can you do the same & provide your 10,000-foot view of how Gough & Millar and Berlanti & Guggenheim cracked their code(s). Some combo of focusing on relationships, character development, & enough spectacle per episode?

@tonytost It's like how Gough & Millar and then Berlanti & Guggenheim cracked the code on how to make superhero shows on an eight day shooting schedule.

Taylor Sheridan's great at exploiting a big market inefficiency: big league older actors who many viewers still love but who Hollywood has largely lost interest in. Costner, Stallone, Sam Elliott, Billy Bob, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris.

Timothy Dalton is my favorite James Bond 007. To his two Bond films, he brought depth and texture: elegance, determination, intensity, sensitivity, and vulnerability. When he left the role, seemingly prematurely, we lost that depth and growth in the character. It was a letdown.

March 21, 1946: Timothy Leonard Dalton Leggett is born in Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire, Wales. He became the 4th official Eon Bond when he starred in "The Living Daylights" (1987) & "License To Kill" (1989). Happy 80th Birthday to my favorite Bond! 🎉🎂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

@DoubleODispatch This was apparently done with Eon's permission. The performance is clearly not as important as the cinematic Bond actors. But he was hired, played the part, and it aired. For viewers of a certain age, he was the voice of Bond. So, I count it.

ABC airs the James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service for the first time on American television. However, the film is edited awkwardly, with the ski chase at Piz Gloria (which happened in the final third of the film) appearing at the beginning, and a third-party narration providing exposition and context.

@DoubleODispatch It's bonkers. But, that means -- in the voice over -- there was another actor "officially" playing Bond. In one of my books, I list dozens of actors who have played 007 across all media. As absurdly as it is, this entry tickles me.

@MarkEdlitz @50YearsAgoLive Can you imagine trying to remember what the flip was going on if you split this film in two? Even worse when they re-edited it into basically a different movie!

@televisiondavid @50YearsAgoLive I think it actually might have been Allen Swift. Scourby narrated the incredible world of James Bond (originally promoted as Connery to narrate!)

@DoubleODispatch @50YearsAgoLive You are correct, it doesn't make any sense. They wanted to broadcast the movie over two nights and they came up with a crazy scheme to pad the running time. This way, they could include more commercials.

@just00fanatic This is not an authentic news story. The article quotes "industry insiders." It seems to be cobbling together older generic quotes and framing it as new information.

@RadioTimes If it’s rooted in the novels, that’s where the real opportunity is. Handled carefully, it could feel less like franchise extension and more like character study. That’s where it becomes interesting.

If DC can have 2 different live action Batman incarnations with The Batman Crime Saga & DCU. Why not have 2 different Spider-Man portrayals where you have a Raimi Spider-Man 4 for Sony & Tom Holland’s Spider-Man for the MCU.

Spider-Man 3 was almost split into TWO movies. 🕷️ Early script was so packed that fourth movie was considered. Venom was darker, parasitic, possibly killing Eddie Raimi never wanted to include Venom. He thought it lacked humanity. His focus was Sandman
