@wavycreator_ I think #3 could’ve done a bit of a better job or selling that it wasn’t a pick. Drop the arms, maybe even turn to the side or pretend like you’re going for the ball a little bit. If the goalie hadn’t fallen down, I’m sure this wouldn’t have been called. Great play design.
@wavycreator_ This was a designed play. #3 had clear instructions to get on the far side of the goalie to block him from getting to the ball. The ball was intentionally played to the back post where Tah can header on goal or back across the 6. Which is why #3 immediately backs up after the pic
4. Our backline HAS to be Freeman | Richards | Ream/Trusty.
5. Only use McKenzie in a desperate situation.
6. Berhalter balled out. I’ve come around on him. Just has to limit poor giveaways.
I hope Poch saw what he needed to from this game (players who can/can’t contribute).
Takeaways from USA v TUR:
1. Players who cannot play in knockouts = Brendo & M Rob. So poor.
2. Pepi cannot play as a lone striker. He lacks the speed and physicality.
3. Reyna and Weah were poor. Expected much more with this opportunity. Weah is a late Dest sub, at best.

Mark McKenzie’s handling of that first goal was one of the funniest and worst pieces of defending I’ve ever seen. How do you let the dude feint and run by you? Wasn’t even a real move.
This was worse than any Miles, Long, Zimmerman, pick your least favorite CB, etc moment.
@EinSchwarzwelt This stood out SO much to me during the game. He got rag-dolled all game. Wish Wright would’ve gotten at least an opportunity to show what he could do.
The USMNT’s lack of depth is really showing tonight. Moving forward I’m not sure I’d be confident in any of our substitutes besides maybe Trusty and Pepi.
What we are watching with the USA right now is a lack of any sort of depth. There are 2 or maybe 3 players on the field for the US that legitimately belong at this level.
@ManagerTactical@aquisie The whole point of the rule is to mitigate/prevent players from saying something racist or homophobic. So maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. But he knew the rule coming into the tournament. Sad that it’s so second nature for him that he didn’t even catch himself.
@JDean16339173@MLShater It’s what stood out to me when I saw it. Didn’t really happen all game with the other players. My fear with him is he can MOSTLY play sound. But when we play a good team, Poch will put him in, and he does something like that and they’ll make us pay. Same with Roldan.
@TheBolivianYank I’d argue his touch was a bit off vs Australia too. Could’ve had a goal or two. But really loved to see him use his speed in one-on-one situations (like in the goal). We have to have someone else besides Puli (and sometimes Dest) who can do that.
Balogun is on another level this World Cup. He’s one of the best players of the tournament and will make his mark for us. He’s a true superstar. Off to a HUGE club he goes after this World Cup….
