People get hung up on messaging, mentality, “bottle” etc. I’m not saying it doesn’t matter. But for me, more than managers, or tactics, or mentality or anything else, talent wins trophies. the most talented teams win stuff. And our attacking talent isn’t currently anywhere near the level. In general, one of the strongest & fairest criticisms that I’ve heard about this current “project” has been the way we’ve approached attacking recruitment. Ultimately this is a tactical defeat not a psychological one imo- which I don’t think is ‘better’ than the more attractive psychological angle (in fact I think it’s worse) and to frame it that way discredits Bournemouth. For Arsenal, technical level needs to rise, without Odegaard and Merino not enough ball security under pressure and I’d wager we’ll see fixing that as a big focus in the summer (which obvs doesn’t help us now!)

Struggled with the four man press again much like the Carabao Cup Final. Frustrating that the warning signs weren’t heeded in the build up to their second goal and we continued to play short even though it was consistently getting us into trouble.
