My dog is gonna go to doggy heaven today! She’s a 15 year old Golden Retriever! We think she had a stroke a couple days ago. Just wanted to let you all know Maggie was the goodest girl that ever was. So gentle, so sweet and affectionate, she loved swimming and treats, she loved the beach and looking at my chickens. She sometimes caught bunny babies and held them in her mouth then let them go unharmed. She was the goodest girl And when I get to heaven I hope she runs to me!

Sad post/ Rainbow Bridge❤️‍🩹 My almost 10-year-old red tabby crossed the rainbow bridge this past Sunday. His name was Oliver (Ollie, Mister Man, Muffin Man, Mr. Cheese, Olly Olly Oxen Free, Mr. Fatty). He had a urinary blockage that was so severe that I was left with the only option the emergency vet could offer. I hadn’t lost a pet in over a decade since I was a teenager, and those were family pets. I was alone at the animal hospital and I didn’t want to accept that this was the only choice. And I still haven’t fully accepted it. I’ve experienced loss since I was 5, when I lost my mom, and I’ve had other family and friends pass since then. But for some reason, this loss feels different. It feels overwhelming in a way I wasn’t prepared for. My husband couldn’t be there because he was with our kids, so we FaceTimed for the last 35 minutes of Ollie’s life. It all happened so fast, and it felt unfair. I’m only on day two without him, and everything just feels wrong. Does this get better with time? He was my true soul companion, and I feel like a piece of me died with him. I haven’t stopped crying. I wake up phantom petting him like he’s still curled up next to my pillow. I’ve been keeping my robe beside me because he used to knead on it. I don’t want to wash the sweater I wore that day, and I’m not ready to wash the comforter yet. Is any of this normal?
