LLMs are powerful and useful productivity tools—but not in the way they’re generally hyped around AGI and similar distractions. For example, one of my kids pointed out that, despite all the power #OPAL (OpenLink AI Layer) unleashes, there wasn’t a clear document (beyond OpenAPI-compliant YAML and JSON docs) to guide developers. The result? I simply told OPAL to document its API using the Swagger skin—powered by @Google Gemini 2.5 as the chosen LLM. As CEO of @OpenLink, it took me just minutes to put this together and publish it. That’s the kind of crazy productivity boost LLMs deliver—unlocking levels previously unattainable. For platform amplification algorithm compliance, the links to the results (and how I pulled it off) are in the comments.

Thank you for this thread. Many of us in the U.S. have been screaming this for over a decade. Worse, during this most recent presidential run, no one wanted to listen to the part where we told them Vance is the real Trojan Horse. Bought, groomed and placed by Peter Thiel. Once he assumes the presidency the tech bros can accelerate their plans to fully destroy any shred of democracy that might remain, and replace it with their beloved monarchical-feudalists technocracy. Thiel and other tech bros are OBSESSED with the idea of it. They practically worship Curtis Yarvin. If Vance does assume the presidency, they’ll implement an extremely oppressive surveillance state, leading to even more repressive Network States run by corporate tech overlords. Vance in the White House is going to horrific.

Another one for the "should have been obvious" pile.

@smc429 So a the ex-wife of a compulsively dishonest sex offender with anger management issues died falling down stairs while entirely alone, and her body was taken by that very same sex offender and buried in a virtually hidden location and we never questioned that "fall"?!!!

Important article. Curious about Hinton, he was one of the inspirations behind my own 1995 neurosymbolic paper, The Semantic Network Programming Language: hypercube.co.uk/docs/snpe-intr…
Gary Marcus@GaryMarcus

How o3 and Grok 4 Accidentally Vindicated Neurosymbolic AI is now live! Worked very hard on this one, because the issues are absolutely essential for a clear understanding of where we are in AI now and how we got here. Link below. Featuring a lot of history, a critique of @geoffreyhinton’s less generous side, and some sharply-observed bits from @_KarenHao’s new book.

@atrupar I can’t think of a better example to show why Canadians don’t want to be 51st state. Canadians would never want to be part of a country that could elect someone like Trump.

@realDonaldTrump: You're calling a trade deficit based on oil and gas - a subsidy? You don't subsidize Canada. You buy from us. And no Canadian wants to join the chaos, racisim, the Christofascism, gun violence, misogyny and contempt for the rule of law we see south of the 49th parallel. Stay in your own contemptible lane.

British Muslims generate at least £70 billion annually for the UK economy. Muslim-led businesses contribute billions of £s & create 1000s of jobs. The halal food industry generates over £1 billion in spending. Muslims contribute 4 times more than the average Brit, in charity.
Christopher Talbot@Lord_Talbot64

Starmer and the King go on about the great contribution made by muslims to the UK but have never mentioned what these contributions are. Does anyone know?

🚨 Here's a thread about ALUMINIUM. Why this commonplace metal is actually pretty extraordinary. How the process of making it is a modern miracle... ... which also teaches you some profound lessons about the trade war being waged by Donald Trump. And why it might be doomed. 🧵

@BenWallace70 I don’t think many commentators or even analysts realise how close Russias economy is to complete financial collapse - Not in the childish sense people say it about China every year, but in a real demographics & zero money / resources left in the kitty - IMF bailout sense
