Good news. Requiring solar panels on every new home should help cut energy bills and make new housing greener from day one.

The Government has agreed to incorporate Max Wilkinson’s Sunshine Bill into their Future Homes Standard. It means all new homes built from 2028 will come with solar panels. This will reduce bills for owners of newbuild homes, reduce pressure on the energy grid and help fight climate change. It’s a Lib Dem win-win-win.

Really positive news for Southport. Residents I have spoken to are delighted that funding has now been approved for the restoration of Southport Pier, and so am I.
Thank you to everyone who helped keep up the pressure and show just how much our pier means to the town.

I was very concerned by a post I saw from a disabled resident about the condition of the public toilets outside Hesketh Park.
I visited to inspect first thing the next morning and found various issues.
I have asked Sefton Council for an explanation.
