NEWS: EThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba has revealed that the group of Congolese nationals that once violently picketed outside Durban Central Police Station, later camped at Diakona Church and eventually camped outside the Home Affairs refugee centre in Moore Road, has demanded to be housed by the municipality in the city of Durban.
That was after they refused to be reintergrated into the local communities or be moved to Lindela.
Xaba revealed that upon learning that there is a group of Malawians in Sherwood, the group of the 457 Congolese also moved to the area.
