@Mouhssin_Ismail Definitely not a big deal and never weighted to make it a deal-breaker for an appointment. I think it is reasonable and developmental to include youngsters. The ‘distrespectful’ observation is a bit archaic perhaps but to each their own …

@mboyle1959 With the squats is it the movement or the movement under load? And with burpees is it the speed and force when dropping repeatedly to the floor? In principle I would promote lowering yourself to the floor and getting back to your feet dynamically as a useful tool.

Most of the things that I say not to do are things that I once did. I did lots of back squats and box squats. I did weighted dips. I did "up-downs" ( burpees). The list is endless. You can choose to listen to those more experienced than you or, you can choose to argue. 😉

We are expected to believe that councils fretting about cuts for so long is a smokescreen? Same gvt who believe people who can’t pay bills need to budget better. They assume we are thick!
The Times and The Sunday Times@thetimes

Councils across England are going bankrupt because of poor financial management and not a lack of money, the head of a new local government watchdog has said ⬇️ #Echobox=1703685184" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">thetimes.co.uk/article/bad-ma…

@garethkthomas This stuff really polarises opinion, doesn’t it. We measure everything about ‘education’ by a set of exams at age 16 so it probably seems a great ‘fix’. Yet the system and funding creates the need for mass economies of scale and centralised behaviouralism. Not my cup of tea.

@Canavaned1971 @Dazzalee127320 Some MATs trump OFSTED in terms of dodgy practice and the inability to admit they are wrong. So many stories like this where common sense goes out the window.

@Dazzalee127320 And they wonder why the biggest group leaving the profession is those in early years of thier career. Many colleagues leave site to get a proper break. Speak with your union rep and line a manager (if it’s not same person). Shocking and if this is the culture -leave.

This is great. Is it just me or was the way we did ‘inclusion’ 15 years ago like this? Until we were told we were ‘pandering’! The swings of educational politics can harm a generation eh @Canavaned1971

@bennewmark I think the word ‘trauma’is quite clear. And most of us would like to be as good as possible at promoting life chances for those who have experienced trauma. The rest can be a good old row between different ideologies by the look of it

Is "trauma informed" one of those umbrella terms it's impossible to have a meaningful discussion on because it means so many different things to do many different people?

Agree. And in my life it has been proven that these misnamed ‘good’ schools do not necessarily pump out good people…

@teachwellall Is it still encouraged for SLT to become an inspector to gain valuable ‘inside knowledge’? Is it still a good transitional phase and paycheck between retiring and retirement? Is it still a good way to boost your ‘consultant’ profile? 3 answers there.

To become the “Best in the West” at reading took a ferocious focus on systematic synthetic phonics, backed by curriculum and accountability reforms, pump priming evidence-based programmes and a decade of better training for teachers.

@englishspecial How much time that could be spent improving teaching and learning is redirected to being Ofsted ready and thus making the school less effective!

I was discussing the well being questions a lead ofsted inspector should ask at the start of an on-site inspection. How poor was your sleep last night? Have you had extreme anxiety since the phone call? Have you or others been in tears or quite emotional already? Any others?

@Southgloshead @Ofstednews I agree. No thought of improving the system. ‘Nothing wrong with the system but I guess we had better do something about these heads that can’t cope’.

For me it is the lack of self awareness by ⁦@Ofstednews⁩ - an organisation which is founded upon a call for deep self-evaluation - which adds insult to tragedy. The response? 1 day’s training. Ofsted delays inspections by a day for training. schoolsweek.co.uk/ruth-perry-ofs…
