The only reason shorts don’t work for people is because their content probably sucks to say the least. You should be ensuring that the entire thing is interesting and to the point without wasting the viewers time. If you’re seeing lots of people swiping away from your short and you have less than 100% retention on it, then people got bored. Sure shorts with low retention can still get views but ultimately YouTube won’t push them if the metrics aren’t good. Plenty of people make a living off of shorts alone. If you want the long form to work you should be creating little trailers for your videos via shorts to push the audience to your video.

VTubers, please be aware that shorts are a bit overrated right now. The big numbers look good, and previous generations of VTubers popped off from them. But (especially for smaller VTubers) they aren't what they once were. My main point is highlighted in red at the bottom.

@NorthVoxVT @nyaraVT Do they? Plenty if things on the left are based on misleading or outright false stats. Anything about gun violence. Activists routinely believe police kill 1,000 or more unarmed black men every year when it's closer to 10.

Streamers, especially VTubers, need to be less terrified of supporting vocal, leftist VTubers. The fact that standing up for human rights makes you more controversial than right wing grifters and results in you losing public connections has ruined the VTubing industry.

I mean, a great example of this in the UK is Brexit, you look at Remains arguments, they were mostly stat based around trade, immigration numbers, loss of GDP and legal protections etc. The right focused on the heart, Farage's breaking point poster reinforcing the "we're full" narrative, the "absurd" EU rules (bendy bananas etc), the whole "rule takers, not rule makers" line. I'm not saying its hard and fast, it is a generalisation, but one I've seen time and time again in comms.

@NorthVoxVT @nyaraVT That’s interesting because I’ve always felt the opposite. Left wingers are very good with slogans, rhetoric, and emotionally compelling arguments. It’s why they’re more commonly authors and artists. The right wingers I know are more likely to quote statistics.
