Ask yourself how much was PMS before it hit above 1k and when and why did it hit 1k? Dangote who is the soul supplier of PMS in Nigeria was the one that increased his price based on the global market price of crude oil which increased from around $73 a barrel to nearly $120 at some point. Do you guys want him to be buying high priced crude, refined it and sell to us at the old price? Hate to sound like @renoomokri but facts don’t lie. All I am saying is the guys comparison of fuel prices per administration should be fair enough to capture the original fuel price under this administration not the increase caused by a conflict in Iran. Or haven’t y’all heard about the Strait of Hormuz. Please y’all should be objective in your opinions.

We have been under producing for ages and most of the crude we produce have been sold ahead of time, hence Dangote is getting less feed stock than expected. Before the oil get to be drilled the international oil companies like TotalEnergies, Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell have already got contract with their customers they supply abroad, the percentage that belongs to the country is what we sell abroad to fund budgets over the years and now we sell parts of that stock to Dangote and other modular refineries. For us to be like Saudi, Qatar, UEA and co we must be producing enough crude to feed our local refineries. For easy context, if we get to produce more crude and sell in Naira to the local refineries then we would be able to buy fuel cheaper regardless of the global crude prices. Mind you we have one of the best crude oil if not the best in the world - The Bonny Light Crude Oil (BLCO), it has lighter weight and low sulfur content making it suitable for refineries. We just need to maximize the gifts of natural resources God has blessed us with.
