The following is something my lovely wife of 45 years asked me to post and I wholeheartedly support. ============= An open letter to Elon Musk.@elonmusk Dear Mr Harriman. I know you understand the reference I just made. I was 10 or 11 when I first read The Man Who Sold the Moon, and it's companion short Requiem, by Robert A Heinlein, or as I like to think of him Admiral Dad. I will never travel to Mars, I am too old. I will never be able contribute to Space X beyond buying merch. But, I am going to ask you to please build a Requiem memorial on Mars. I'm sure there are millions of people like me, who gazed up at the stars and dared to dream and envision a future everyone told them was impossible. I know you are one of those stargazers. Ashes of the dreamers could be placed at the memorial, just something the size of a tylenol capsule. For all those who never got a chance to make the trip. Thank you for opening a door to the stars. Requiem by Robert Lewis Stevenson Under the wide and starry sky, Dig the grave and let me lie. Glad did I live and gladly die, And I laid me down with a will. This be the verse you grave for me: Here he lies where he longed to be; Home is the sailor, home from sea, And the hunter home from the hill. Wife of Outis

Nazi means someone who doesn't agree with the left. They are allegedly bad guys, or were, but now they got Platner running, and have been taking George Soros' money for years, it gets a bit confusing. As for calling you a Communist, not sure exactly why anyone would, but I am not that familiar with all your posts. Have you advocated for collectivization of the means of production? Higher Taxes? censorship? Are you sure it is the "real" right that is calling you that? As opposed to the fake right that the left props up to show they have enemies?

Somehow I get people on the far Left telling me I'm a "Nazi" and people on the far Right telling me I'm a "Communist." Help it make sense.

And so ends this rendition of the “American Exceptionalism” series. Our country is the best country in the world and other countries just aren’t as good. That’s the lesson.
InfantryDort@infantrydort

American Exceptionalism XLV: The James Webb Space Telescope The World Before: For most of history, mankind looked upward through atmosphere, myth, and limitation. The universe was visible, but veiled. We could see light, but not always its origin. We could measure the heavens, but not yet stare deep enough to watch creation aging backward. The American Answer: The James Webb Space Telescope changed the depth of human sight. American-led, built with allies, launched into the dark, and placed nearly a million miles from Earth, it unfolded like a cathedral of gold and began pulling ancient light out of the edge of time. This was not exploration by bootprint. It was conquest by vision. The Legacy: Webb gave mankind a deeper universe. Galaxies, stars, dust, atmospheres, birth, death, distance, and time itself became clearer because a civilization still had the nerve to build an eye powerful enough to look past the limits of its own age. America did not merely reach for the stars. It built the instrument that made them confess. The Threat: The enemies of this country hate ambition that escapes politics. They prefer a smaller people, trapped in grievance, managed by scarcity, and taught to sneer at wonder as waste. Webb is the answer in gold and cold silence. A nation that can look thirteen billion years into the dark should never be governed by minds afraid of tomorrow.

@Higgy_rock Because liberals used the term "Murica!" as an insult to conservatives for years, and we decided that we were going to take that insult and repurpose it for ourselves.

I worked nights at Stanford Linear Accelerator in California. The accelerator is this vast 2 mile long machine buried about 30 feet underground. When they dug the trenches for the machine, they had to put the dirt somewhere and we called these hills "anti-holes" One 4th, we climbed one of the anti-holes and watched the fireworks show all up and down the San Fransisco bay area. Beautiful site

I remember one year on the Fourth of July being excited to see fireworks later like we did every year. I was maybe 10 or 11 years old. But hours before it got dark my Dad said get in the car. He packed me, my brother and Mom in the family car and off we go. I did so under protest. Why are we not going to see fireworks? Not much said from Dad in response. . About a half hour into the drive, finally after being asked incessantly he said we are going to Aurora Airport. I rolled my eyes and said so we are going to miss fire works.. We get to the airport, park and load a Cessna Dad had rented for the night (he had his private pilot’s license). We do pre-flight which seemed to take hours and finally got the bird fired up. I’m still pissed, but loved flying with Dad. We take off before dusk and climb out of Aurora Illinois (Chicago suburbs) up into the sky. The sun starts setting as we slowly climb higher into the sky. Okay. We’re flying tonight, I’ll manage to enjoy it. The sky finally goes dark and Dad says look down. My brother and mother and I do. We are above the fireworks looking down. Not just at one show but several dozens from towns and cities as far as our eyes could see. I’ll never forget that year of watching fireworks from thousands of feet in the sky above the shows. It was amazing.

Thomas Sowell debunks the myth that the rich get rich by exploiting the poor: “If it’s true that the rich are rich because they’re keeping the poor poor, then in a country with lots of billionaires you should correspondingly have great amounts of poor people. But if you compare the actual data, there are more billionaires in the United States than Africa and the Middle East put together; and yet the standard of living of the poor in the United States is higher than that of people in Africa and the Middle East.”

Harvard believes the next Einstein is already among us. Meet Sabrina Gonzalez Pasterski, a quiet theoretical physicist and one of the brightest minds of her generation. At 14, she built a real airplane. At 16, she flew it alone. When MIT rejected her, she sent them a video of the plane she built instead. Their reply: "Start next semester." She later graduated with a perfect GPA, was cited by Stephen Hawking, and turned down offers from Google, Facebook, and Jeff Bezos. Instead of chasing money and fame, she chose to focus on understanding the universe.

Turkey blocked an American cruise ship carrying more than 2,000 LGBTQ+ passengers from docking,.. They said that the passengers’ behavior did not align with the country’s “moral values.” Is this understandable? 🤔

I watched 1776 again last night. The old musical. Grown men in wigs arguing through a Philadelphia heat wave, sweating over every word, terrified and stubborn and brave all at once. I have seen it a dozen times. It still gets me every single time. And somewhere around the last vote, it hit me. Once a year, every network should carry the same thing at the same hour. All of them. Broadcast, cable, streaming, radio. The way they used to clear the schedule for a presidential address. Except no president reads it. No senator. No celebrity. No host. The moment a politician stands up to read the Declaration, half the country changes the channel, and the whole point dies in the first sentence. So you hand it to the people instead. Fifty states. One line each, passed hand to hand across the country. Regular Americans in kitchens and firehouses and diners and on the decks of carriers at sea, each taking a sentence and passing it on. Anchor it with the two groups who know exactly what the words cost. New citizens, sworn in that very morning, reading the line that all men are created equal. People who chose this country on purpose. And veterans, reading the final pledge of their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. People who actually signed that check and meant it. No party owns a broadcast like that. No famous face sells it. Nobody can make it about themselves. Just the country, reading its own founding out loud, one voice at a time, from sea to shining sea. Ten minutes. Every year. Every screen. Not a president talking at us. Us, talking to each other, in the words that started the whole thing. 🦋

And yet here you are, free as the fucking bird you are to talk shit about the country you live in. Bitch, get the fuck out. Go move to Ghana, Senegal or one of those Blackity-Black-ass countries you hoes LOVE to romanticize about taking y'all back. All y'all do is complain about things that happened CENTURIES AGO, while reveling in hedonism and ungratefulness. Y'all aren't worth two flies smashed.

I think it is C: but in reverse. One must accept Jesus Christ as Savior, which SHOULD lead to repentance of sin. This also leads to good works (B). Church membership and taking communion are external reminders, very helpful, but not required. If you do not repent are continue doing bad things, then that can be considered proof you ain't really accepted Christ
