@TMGB @gerryforcomms @EricssonNetwork @ericsson @GSMAi Yes not easy to track sometimes. In the Ericsson Mobility Report we define a 5G subs as those having a 5G device and subscription in a network that has launched 5G. And yes China will continue to stand for a large part of 5G subscriptions.

@gerryforcomms @EricssonNetwork @ericsson @GSMAi @PCerwall Other thing with that stat that @gsmai pointed out recently - a good percentage of Chinese 5G subscriptions are for users that don't have 5G devices. On the flip side, there are plenty of markets where users buy 5G phones but don't take a 5G subscription. Mixed up stats abound!

@benedictevans @Gabeuk @EricssonNetwork Today there are around 5.9 billion subscribers (users) globally compared to 8 billion subscriptions. There tends to be roughly a 30% difference between users and subscriptions. Initially for 5G though it is more equal between users and subscriptions.

* 4G networks to increase from 75 percent global population coverage in 2018, to over 90 percent in 2025. * Global 5G coverage is expected to reach between 55 and 65 percent by the end of 2025.
