But it remains true that DEI systematically elevated a large number of deeply unqualified and unserious people to roles where they are now doing tremendous damage, partly due to sheer incompetence, partly due to the sorts of ideological factors associated with being a DEI beneficiary. The question of how we navigate unwinding this in the years ahead remains open.
