Sorry, but the “artisanal” bread in American supermarkets is not as a cheapo loaf of whole wheat bread in a Dutch supermarket. The use of corn syrup is very obvious. You can absolutely buy decent bread made with just flour, yeast, water and salt, but it will cost a lot of money and has a very short shelf life
